What is a Mutato?

In a rapidly changing world of rapidly accumulating toxic waste, Mutatoes take to the sky.
These creatures, affectionately dubbed Mutatoes, are a sad combination of an unknown creature, radioactive material, and a potato.
They live in the sky and consume UV radiation. They are the new era of Super Man.

At birth Mutatoes are about the size of a potato and can grow to around the size of a basketball.
Generally they are busy creatures who would prefer flying to being carried.
The Mutato is filled with the same kind of gases that its tail is made of.
These gases are currently unidentified, but are lighter than air- enabling them to fly.
They can stay in the air for a maximum of 20 hours straight before they need to land and "rest".
Though, when they can't be in the air, Mutatoes pace... a lot.

Reason for choosing her name :

Whelp, It pretty much sprang up in my head. The original name being Eleanor but after shortening it I decided to have Ellie as her official first name. Its quick to say and sounds like a bell to the ears. I did a little more research on the name as well and found out that it means "noble, exalted; sun ray, shining light; other, foreign;". Since it has so many meanings I latched onto the english meaning " other, foreign " Because I think it describes her best. She loves the ocean, and the pretty things that come from it which makes her different.

Why is her charm a scallop shell:
Since Ellie is made mostly of gasses and floats around the sky, she loves to keep this scallop shell as a reminder of the ground beneath her. A little treasure from under the sea that can be taken along with her wherever she goes since she sees it as a lovely reminder of what the world once was. Something lush and beautiful

Reason For Choosing This Name
Thetis was a sea nymph in Greek Mythology. This beauty is based on the ocean. Thetis just seemed like a good choice for naming this wonder of Mutatos and art.

What Kind Is It?
Thetis's lucky seashell is a conch shell. It is a peachy color with strange, intricate carvings on the inside. In shape, it was a spiraling beauty; it was almost like a unicorn's horn.
Why??? (Story)
I was greatly disappointed the day we Mutatos took to the sky. I didn't know how I could possibly part with my home, the great ocean. I did eventually get used to living far away from the place I loved. But every spare second on Earth I had(which wasn't much) I was visiting the place I'd known my whole life. I realized... I was spending far too much time there. Then... The solution came along. One day, my friend(Mutato#13) gave me a conch shell. I realized this was the solution. I could hear the sound of the sea without traveling far from the safe haven in which I lived. What I didn't realize was that this conch shell was also very, very good luck. The other day, I was floating around in space and I kinda lost track of time( oopsies). The 20 hours were up. Then I kinda fell out of the sky. I thought this would be the end of me for sure... But... I landed in a mossy patch which broke my fall. From that moment on, I knew that this conch shell was a very precious thing indeed.

Ｒｅａｓｏｎ ｆｏｒ Ｃｈｏｏｓｉｎｇ ｔｈｅ Ｎａｍｅ
When I was younger, I had an imaginary friend named Andrina.
She was a mermaid. I think this name has a wonderful, beachy,
feel to it. I think it fits this Mutato perfectly!

Ｓｅａｓｈｅｌｌ Ｃｈａｒｍ
Andrina's lucky seashell is a calico scallop seashell.
She wrote a story about finding her shell below:

I found my shell, I call her "Waverly" for reasons I'm not
even sure of! I was very young, and my mother was with
me, I was having a horrible day. I can barely remember
why I was having such a bad day but I do remember I
was in pain, something with my front legs. I begged my
mother to go find some food, I was hungry. She scolded
me and said no. I started crying. That day was getting
worse.

I flew away from my mother, it was a foolish idea, I re-
alize that now! I heard my mother calling me, but I just
kept flying, until it got fainter, and fainter. I must've
flown for hours, because I remember it was dark before
I came to my senses and wanted to go home. I started
to cry again, not because I was sad, but because I was
scared. Before I knew it, it was pitch black, and I
couldn't see anything. I found myself at a beach. I assu-
me it would have been absolutely beautiful if it was
daytime! There I saw a shell, it was just big enough for
me to squeeze into.

I slept in that shell, I had cried myself to sleep. I woke up
to the sun coming up, and, in the distance I heard a glorious
sound, someone calling my name! It was faint, but it was
there! I was instantly up, and I called back. I was saved! "Andr-
ina!" "Andrina!" I was my mother, that was the sweetest sound
I've ever heard. My mother checked me out, I was fine, and ga-
ve me a stern scolding. I grabbed Waverly, and we left. I've
never gone back to that beach again. Waverly's my only reminder!
