What is a Mutato?

In a rapidly changing world of rapidly accumulating toxic waste, Mutatoes take to the sky.
These creatures, affectionately dubbed Mutatoes, are a sad combination of an unknown creature, radioactive material, and a potato.
They live in the sky and consume UV radiation. They are the new era of Super Man.

At birth Mutatoes are about the size of a potato and can grow to around the size of a basketball.
Generally they are busy creatures who would prefer flying to being carried.
The Mutato is filled with the same kind of gases that its tail is made of.
These gases are currently unidentified, but are lighter than air- enabling them to fly.
They can stay in the air for a maximum of 20 hours straight before they need to land and "rest".
Though, when they can't be in the air, Mutatoes pace... a lot.

The top is a viperfish (even though it looks like an anglerfish) and the bottom is my favorite fish, the oarfish, which is the longest bony fish in the world.

Reason for choosing the name;
when i was really young,i used to own a fish tank with plenty of nice,colourful fish which i loved a lot!one summer day,however,as i was visiting my cousin,i asked him whethre he himself still owned a fish tank.he carelessly replied that yes,he did,but hadn't fed the fish for a few weeks-he was waiting for them to die.upon discovering the tank in a morbid state,a single fish was still alive,even if barely.i put him in a sandwhich bag and took the little fella home,where he adapted surprisingly well!
my little brother named him Lex,and he grew to be one of the most beautiful fish i have personally seen.

oh,as someone who is trying for vet school i get this asked quite often,and i always reply with Guppy fish!partly due to them being the first fish i have ever owned,partly due to how easy it is to care for them,and partly because of the immense colour variety!

I love all the species you guys showed me! But the winner is vriskah! Congrats! I had 4 guppies once. They were one of the best fish I ever had (not including my ghost/ glass catfish). Every single one of them are stunning to look at!
