Welcome to the Showdeo Folks!School is officially out now and it is time for summer gaming!Now for those of you who don't know what events are in a showdeo, it's events like, barrel racing,pole bending,tub races,keyhole,and bait a horse.But since I feel like being nice there will be only three events.Those three events are Pole Bending,Barrel Racing, and Key Hole.

Pole Bending

So this is a very quick event!You weave through the poles and weave back,trying to get the fastest time.You will be judged on your bond with your horse and the time it takes you to get through.For Entry pieces you can do one art piece and one story to match or two storys one before or after the event and one during.

Barrel Racing

This is a very popular sport!It's fast,dangerous and fun!You go around the inside of each barrel,which their is three of.This is solely based on your time and horse.For the one entry piece you must either right a story based before the event up until going through the gates or a piece of art during the event!

Entry 1: The golden sun broke through the early morning clouds, and the heavy mist that had grabbed a hold of the earth overnight, making it a world full of shadows.As i walked into the stables many horses nickered to me in a good morning greeting. I walked through the empty corridor, my boots echoed a familiar rhythm on the floor. I passed by Dawn and she looked out at me with sleepy brown eyes. I gently patted her on the head and continued on to Chaska's stall. As i drew near Chaska stuck his head out the stall door. His coat glowed golden from the morning light coming through the windows. I coed to him as i scratched his head and prepared to get his morning feed. Today is going to be a long day, having to prepare Chaska and Dawn for the Summer Showdeo later today at Cotton Wood Ranch. I have already decided to work with Chaska first today then work with Dawn.

Calvin took in a deep breath as he led Delta to the pole bending arena. He couldn't let his nerves get the best of him. He and Delta had worked to hard for it to end here, and for it to end because he was scared.

Delta sensed the anguish his rider and friend was in, but he couldn't tell why. He nosed Calvin's shoulder hopeing to cheer him up.

Delta's nudging didn't help with Calvin's nerves; altough, it did make him smile for a moment. Still worried Calvin mounted Delta. "Ready or not here we go..." They were about to ride threw the gate when Calvin heard someone calling his name.

"Cal! Hold on!" A woman ran up to up to Calvin and Delta. "Cal I know your nervous, but Delta's not going to let you down, nor are you going to let him down. Ok? You two are great, and you are NOT afraid. Understand?"

Before Calvin could respond to his friend Delta strode forward through the gate and stood several feet from the starting line. Delta was ready, and so was Calvin. "She's right. I am not afriad, because I know that you... the we can do this. Ready Delta?"

Delta surged forward across the starting line heading straight for the poles.

Not a thought of doubt crossed Calvin's mind as he and Delta charged forward. Win or Lose we will not be afriad...

Calvin walked out of the barn to meet his friend. She had promised to help him get everything done before the compitition. Taking care of so many horses was a difficult task even with the help of a few other stable hands, let alone trying to get ready for a compitition.

A young woman walked up to the barn. Her sandy blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail. "Hey Cal!" She seemed as excited as the horses. She placed her hands on her hips and smiled, "What do you need me to do?"

"Hey Nadi."Calvin smiled back at her, he stood a few inches taller than her, his dusty black hair hidden under a greyish brown cowboy hat. "Let me show you who I'll be riding today first." He led her into the barn and down to a stall, "I know you've met him before." He opened the stall door enough to let them both step in.

A beautiful buckskin stallion nickered at them, nosing Calvin in hopes of a treat. When he didn't get the treat he was hoping for he turned to Nadine and whinnied.

Nadine smiled "Hi Delta!" She rubbed his neck. "You've been practicing with him in pole bending right?" She followed Calvin out of Delta's stall.

"Yup. Although I'm a little nervous that this is the first time he'll be actually competing..." Calvin could tell that Nadine was watching him as he led her to another stall further down. He stopped in front of the stall.

"Aren't we going in to say hi?"

Calvin shook his head, "No. We'll just have to stand out here to see him."

Slightly confused Nadine looked into the stall. What she saw was a stunning blue roan. He had a badger marked face and a white mane and tail. He was unlike any horse she had ever seen. "He's so gorgeous! What's his name and why can't we go in?"

"This is Fallen Angel, we call him Fallen, and much like his name suggests he is not as friendly as he looks." Calvin watched Fallen as he snorted at his water bucket.

"Cal... Is he the one that bucked you last week?"

Calvin nodded, "Yeah, and I'm riding him in barrel racing today..."

Nadine was shocked, "What if he throws you again?! You could get really hurt! Plus barrle racing is really dangerous especially with a horse like him!"

"He's the only one that has any experience with barrel racing. Besides I think it'll do him some good to get out of ths stall and run..." With that Calvin began to prepair the two horses. Nadine tried to deter Calvin from using Fallen, but she failed...

Calvin led Fallen out to the gates, they were both ready. Calvn could feel the energy and anticipation coming from Fallen.

Nadine watched as Calvin mounted. "...Cal!... Be careful..."

Calvin smiled at her, "Don't worry! If I fall..."

"You won't..." She turned and walked towards the stands before Calvin could say another word. He walked Fallen to the starting line and waited...
