Meet Dakoya #4 c:

A Dakoya is a curious combination of the Australian Dingo and the North American Black Bear. These mammals inhabit the American, North Western coast such as Washington and Oregon. Dakoyas remain a mere myth to humans and have only been spotted 2-3 times in the past 100 years.

A reminder: I used the water color tool on his designs. You might need to make colors darker/lighter when drawing him to get them to look right.

Oh gosh, wish me luck everyone! I actually attempted to do the art (and normally I draw like a 4 year old) so I really hope I can win this one just so the internet never has to see my art again XD

Whyet (pronounced "why"-eht)

male

Whyet prefers the company of male dakoya. He seeks to one day partner with another male.

Whyet is still alone even though he is destined to be partnered. He seeks a partner, lonely and driven by powerful instincts for companionship, but keeps running into solitary dakoya or dakoya already partnered, who react rather aggressively to his advances. He is very non-aggressive, always backing down from battles with dakoya even if they are younger or smaller than him. He just doesn't like conflict. This is to the point that he isn't the best of hunters, but his favorite food are wild onions, which doesn't require a whole lot of hunting anyway! He's pretty lazy and quiet most of the time, mostly because he sees no reason to be running around growling at things, but occasionally an idea will occur to him to do something or go somewhere and he will be full of youthful energy. He prefers running to feel the wind on his face rather than running to try and catch prey. He actually is quite light-hearted and spirited, but only in private, and once a dakoya gets to know him, they have a loyal friend.

"Rain" by Bryan Adams - I have NO clue why the video is a bunch of random anime pictures, but just ignore the video and listen to the song. Even though there are no words, I think the song reflects the spirit of this dakoya. It is quiet, but grows playful.







I made Whyet a pattern! Here you can view the pattern that I created by myself using a color palette I created myself just for Whyet, based on the colors of his coat! (the reason I named it "Number 4" is because that is the number of dakoya that he is, and that way if I don't win him, then the winner can use this pattern however they want It is made to represent the mountainous forest-y area where dakoya roam.

Favorite Food: wild onions ~ Whyet just loves their pungent but slightly sweet taste! He also loves dandelions, they are bitter with a fluffy texture that he enjoys.
Favorite Pastime: Whyet loves to find a river, lake or stream. He will lay out on a rock, sunbathing and dozing off, until he becomes quite hot with all of his fur. Then he will jump in the water and swim to cool off!
Favorite Time of Day: Whyet loves night time. He enjoys staring up at the sky and watching the stars. When he sees a shooting star, he will take its path in the morning, and that is how he decides where to hunt and live.
Favorite Season: Summer - Whyet hates the spring when it rains so much, and he doesn't like the cold winters and falls that make him feel lazy and unwilling to come out of the den.
Favorite Smell: The smell of rain - he will take cover in a cave or under some rocks and just watch it. Even though he dislikes rain in general, since it makes him wet and smelly, he enjoys watching it and smelling it. Especially in the autumn, when there isn't a bunch of flowers and trees that are filling his nostrils with their smells. Everything is dead or dying in preparation for the winter, but the rain smells alive and crisp.
Favorite Sound: The flutter of bird wings. Sometimes when it's growing cold and the birds begin to migrate south, vast numbers of them will take off overhead, and he loves the sound of dozens and dozens of wings cutting through the still air. He will chase after them, following the sound, until they are either too far for him to hear or lead him where he can follow no longer.

Achak - meaning 'Spirit'.

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Straight. He one day wishes to have cubs of his own blood, and so would prefer a female's company.

Personality:

Depending on the situations at hand Achak may be either kind or stern - however, even in a bad mood this Dakoya offers respect to the other lives around him. He prefers the company of another of his kind, rather than being lonely and can normally be known as a goof in most occasions and a bit of a slacker, however, give him a reason and things can get serious quickly. He's a bit of an explorer and a daydreamer, getting lost in thought here and there and more or less barely focused to what one has to say unless it is of his concern and it may come as annoying for most. A tad bit sarcastic and a slight joker, Achak makes a great companion and still he searches for the right partner, or friend, even...any company is welcome in his book as long as they're kind.

Spending half of his life alone didn't add on well to hid need for company. (WIP)
