Oh my goodness. It's finally happened - this is a dream of mine!!
Username:
Farrah
Cat name:
Vir Fortis Aevus (hero of time) but I'd nickname him Virtu (it just popped into my head to take off the e in virtue.)
Gender:
Male
Why do you want him:
It seems we can all say it in only one way: our love for the Legend of Zelda franchise. I cannot tell you that I played these games on the N64, nor that it was a childhood dream. I grew up and discovered this series through the Phantom Hourglass, which I sadly have not yet finished (I'm close!). Although I did not live with this game, it so immediately captured my attention, love, and new line of obsession. I have many of the game boy rerelease versions of the originals, Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time (for both the GameCube and the 3DS), the Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, the Minish Cap, Four Swords (both anniversary edition and GameCube) and a collective disc with the The Legend of Zelda, LoZ A Link to the Past (those are also the ones I own for game boy; I have a bad habit of getting things twice...) OoT, Wind Waker, and a sneak peak at four swords.
Think I'm crazy yet? My collection extends to include a Phantom Hourglass poster and guide, a Skyward Sword guide, the golden remote that came in the SS pack (plus the Nintendo shop's golden nunchuck), a little link plush, a little bead ocarina (we all know those; the ones you put in the oven, they kind of melt together and you have a picture? Yeah, that.) a Christmas Link hat (literally, think link styled hat dressed up like a christmas tree) and, lastly (I think) is the hand drawn art of Zelda, which I received at Comicon. Oh, one more thing: the LoZ Hyrule Historia book.
Wow, this list makes me feel crazy, and much to my chagrin life has kept me too busy to start many of these wonderful games. If I can think of anything else, I will be sure to add it.
Besides my overall love of the series, however, I love the details. This marble cat perfectly displays the overall rather dark theme of Twilight Princess, mirroring the wolf form well. As I skimmed down to the bottom of the page, I saw something about Navi in somebody's form; it must have been the wings, and I completely agree (Edit: it was Neara's form). The delicate form of the wings and their overall shape are quite alike! His blue eyes, like all his human predecessors, capture me especially. They seem to emphasize Link's overall hero virtues; his ability to remain untouchable and untainted around so much evil (both in his own video game and outside, in the video game industry). You have captured the beautiful spirit of Link in this drawing, and that is what I will appreciate about him if Virtu ever becomes mine.
Do you own a marble cat:
I do not; although I've been trying for a while.
Art/bid: Sending bid; I'm sorry to say that my computer is tussling and refusing to work with Java, but I will see what I can do.
Edit: I don't think I'm going to be able to get any art done; I apologize but my bid is all I can offer, it seems.
Well, good luck to everyone; I am so proud to be counted among the fan base of Legend of Zelda and always happy at how many people love it.
Whew...that was long.
