Story: It was a very misty day as I walked on Henley street, in Stratford-upon-Avon on my summer vacation. I listened to the gentle lapping of water against the shore, the white swans like ghosts on the calm water, through the heavy mist that held this quiet scene. As I walked down the cobble stones I heard the quiet clop of horse feet coming through the mist. Then through the mist a carriage broke through with a beautiful grey horse leading the way. My breath caught in my throat as she passed by, her ribs sticking out but her kind eyes staring at me, begging me to help. I stared into those deep eyes as the blinders cut them off. As the mist enveloped her again she stumbled, and the last I saw of her was the whip coming down on her weary body. That crack of the whip stayed in my ears as i walked back to the hotel.I lied in my bed thinking about her an image came to my mind. In the lobby there was a flyer about a horse auction tomorrow. I can go and hope to catch a glimpse of her maybe. With that I fell asleep, impatient for the next day.

As i walked briskly through the stalls of horses for sale in the auction my heart ached for them. Then as i reached the main area i saw her. There in the middle of the arena she stood, terrified at all these people that stared at her with evil eyes. As i ran the rest of the way up to the fence she turned and her eyes caught mine. I stood there staring into her eyes as the gavel came down and the man yelled sold to Cotton Wood ranch. At that sound my heart filled with joy, I will see her again.
