Gorlassar {Gore-las-er}. It is a Welsh name meaning 'above the blue' or 'higher than the sky'. I chose the name for his coloring. He prefers to be called Lassar, since he is not particularly fond of the first part of his name.
TE's Gender:
It isn't hard to tell he is a boy.
Butterfly's Name:
Arthur, or just Art for short. Lassar named the butterfly this after his deceased father.
TE's Favorite thing to do:
Watch balloons float into the sky, look at the clouds, hang out with Art, imaging that he is flying.
Story:
Lassar watched the rainbow balloon find it's way lazily up into the sky and he could feel Art watching just as intently beside him. "Where do you think it goes?" Lassar asked his friend, not having to address him directly for him to know who he was talking to.
Art took his time replying, obviously thinking hard about it. "Maybe to heaven," he said finally.
"Up to dad?" Lassar asked looking over to Arthur for the first time since he had let go of the balloon.
Art, again, didn't say anything for quite a while as he looked Lassar in the eyes. He sighed and looked at the sky, "I don't know." This was the correct answer to the first question, but he refused to say it the little elephant.
"Do you know what I do every time I let a balloon up into the sky, Art?" Lassar asked, not waiting for an answer before he continued, "I put a little prayer on the balloon and I ask that it goes way up there and my daddy can see it. Then I ask that it comes back down, with his own little prayer on it," the young elephant stopped there, "One hasn't come back yet."
Art didn't reply, he didn't feel like he needed to, in fact. He thought it might be better not to. Sometimes silence can be more comforting than words in his opinion. Just as the silence was becoming a bit lengthy, Lassar stood and started to walk down the hill they were on. Art watched him for a moment before slowly flitting after him. At the base of the hill, Lassar suddenly brightened up and said, "Race you to the house!"
Art looked at him with the best confused look he could muster, "You know I'll win."
Lassar didn't wait for a response as he went on his lovely way, with Art following close behind.
Up on the hill a little rainbow balloon went down onto the grass, nestling right in between two dandelions. On it, there was the echo of a prayer, "I'm watching over you. Forever and for always."
