Story: Auld Lang Syne watched the TV with his owner, his tail thumping in excitement. Jay was standing up and counting excitedly, a glass of something carbonated in his hand. Auld Lang Syne had noticed that, during his stay on earth, it seemed as though one of human's traditions were to celebrate one night at the end of an earth year. Auld Lang Syne wasn't sure why that was so, but the hype was enjoyable and he couldn't complain at the beautiful light show that was put on on the television.

"Five! Four! Three! Two..." Auld Lang Syne hopped up on the couch so he could get closer to Jay. The star captain was beaming in excitement, and Auld Lang Syne could feel the thrill rolling off of his human in waves. "One! Happy New Year, Auld Lang Syne!!" Jay cheered. Auld Lang Syne leapt off the couch and danced around at Jay's feet in excitement before Jay sat down on the couch and put on 'Happy New Year, Charlie Brown'.

Auld Lang Syne leapt up to Jay's side and curled up against him. The star captain carefully pet his dear Feerling as they watched their New Year classic.

Somewhere, from the apartment nearby, a song seeped through the walls and struck Auld Lang Syne somewhere in his heart.....

"Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne ?

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne."

Jay smiled and looked down at his beloved Feerling, who was looking up at him quizzically, "We'll take a cup of Kindness yes," Jay whispered, "For Auld Lang Syne....."
