Name(s) wrote: Jantar
The reason I chose this name is because
her eyes and orbs reminded me of amber.
Jantar means amber in Croatian.

anything else.

Personality wrote: Jan, as she is usually called, is calm and collected. She is exceedingly smart and looks to the future (in a planning way). Don't get me wrong, she doesn't act like a girl. She is very brave and skilled in battle. She is good at hiding; even with her clearly marked pelt. She is strong and I'll tell you she can send a guy running! She has a loving and motherly instinct in which she wants a mate and family. Jan never loses her cool. She is creative and quick-thinking. Jan is also athletic and competitive. She never sulks and rarely looses her temper. She I'd hard-working and devoted to her cluster. She us willing to sacrifice everything for a friend. She isn't afraid to do what's right. Jantar was born with the gift of leadership. And she uses it well. She never rushes to a descision. She tries to please everyone but she is not afraid to contradict others. She always has words to say. She has a good sense of humour but is also very serious. She respects authority and guidance.
History wrote:“MOMMY! Don’t leave! When are you coming back! What did we do wrong?!” Jantar shuddered as she pushed the memory away. “Hello. My name is Jantar. I see you want to know my history. I don’t reveal it to anyone but I trust you. It goes like this…”
Jantar purred as her mate came to see their kits. “Their beautiful,” He whispered. His name was Lightning. “And there our kits, Lightning.” “Jantar, I’m going on a patrol.” “WHAT! There’s going to be a storm!” “Its OK. The whole cluster is going.” “No! I might… Your kits…” “You’ll be fine. Help me name them.” “How about Thunder for our boy, after you; and Lily and Rosette for our two daughters.” “Perfect. I love you; all of you.” He left for the patrol. That night a snowstorm closed in. A day went by, and another, and another until a week had gone by. “He promised he would be OK!” She started to cry knowing that her mate was either lost far from home or dead caught in a snowdrift. “Mommy? Where’s Daddy? He said he’d come to see us. We heard him that night.” “He’s not coming dears,” She hugged them close, “He’s lost.” “When will he find his way home?” “Never.” “Did he abandon us! Doesn’t he love us?” “He loved you very much. But he’s gone now. He’ll always be with you, no matter where you are.” After a few months of basic training she gathered up her fatherless family and set out into a spring day. They travelled many weeks till the found a cluster. “You see. My kits are fatherless. I can’t take care of them myself and they need a cluster,” Jantar was talking to the alpha of the cluster. “Of course we’ll take them. But aren’t you staying?” Jantar’s voice cracked, “I can’t! She sobbed! Take care of them!” She flew out to her kits, “Good bye my lovelies.” “Where you going mommy?” “Far away, Lily. You’re all tough and strong now. You’ll live with this cluster and protect it with your life.” She turned to leave, “MOMMY! Don’t leave! When are you coming…..”

This is in response to a question her kits asked after she fought a bird for their supply of food. "Everyone has fear. Only a bird-brain would rush into battle without fear. The bravery that comes from your heart is what tells you to face your fear."
"Don't worry about the winter. If you want to freeze to death jump into a frozen pond. If you want to survive: prepare."
"If you don't have hope you have nothing."
"Family is forever. I'll always be with you." Saying good bye to her kits. See History.

Poetry wrote:There are two poems. This is the first.
The winter-loving soul she is,
The snow and ice do give her bliss;
Russet fur and amber eyes,
Flap your wings and reach the skies.
Frozen mountains claim her home,
With family, she’s not alone;
Russet fur and amber eyes,
Flap your wings and reach the skies.
She skids and shivers,
Over icy rivers;
Russet fur and amber eyes,
Flap your wings and reach the skies.
Falling snow in the air,
She adores the bright, white glare;
Russet fur and amber eyes,
Flap your wings and reach the skies.
So when the snow melts and green does show,
You’ll wait for summer to cool and go;
Russet fur and amber eyes,
Flap your wings and reach the skies.
More Poetry wrote:This is my second poem.
Light brown flash of timber;
And a dark streak of russet;
Warm amber eyes;
The snowy white glow;
This describes my diamond.
Smart and brave;
Loyal and kind;
Friendly and unique;
And not afraid to speak;
This describes my diamond.
Athletic and fun;
She loves to skate and run;
She’s got winter-proof fur
And lots of other things;
This describes my diamond.
