Special Name: Tenjin - |(
Ten means "sky",
Jin means "god" or "deity") From Japanese mythology and folklore, Tenjin is the deification of a scholar, poet, and politician named Sugawara no Michizane, who was demoted and later died in exile due to the plots of a rival from the Fujiwara family. Mysteriously, and directly following his death, the capital city was hit by a terrible storm, many of the leading Fujiwara dying as a result. Fires caused by this deadly lightning and flooding destroyed many of their residences as well. For the first few centuries afterward, he was seen as a god of natural disasters, worshipped to appease him and prevent his curses from striking again, however, these views have changed greatly over the years, and worshippers now popularly view him as a patron of scholarship.|

Paddock Personality: In the paddock? Heh, well you might say that he's quite a show off. In fact, that might even be an understatement. He prances around the place like he owns it, head held high and mane flying, with it's inhabitants, from his point of view at least, falling to the lowly roll of his own, personal servants. It doesn't really
matter that he's only just a colt, or even the sheer fact that he has to stand on a
bucket in order to come eye to eye with the lead stallion, he can't
stand it when he's not taken seriously. He exudes confidence as if it came from the very pores of his own skin, and is always quick with a few witty comebacks if his haughty mannerisms come to question. I wouldn't
dare try to pet him when he's like this, or even offer him the best of enticing things, for he would surely throw the most
atrocious of temper tantrums at such an embarrassment. I usually just end up dropping my gifts over the southern fence and walking away, where I'll watch from afar to see that smug, gleeful look on his baby face at the treasures he has found.
Owner Personality: Dare I say it, but this is the only time that I get to see underneath that bull-headed, princely little parade he puts on for his
pupilsfriends. When he's with
me, and is absolutely
positive that nobody else in the
world is watching, he makes a complete transformation. What was once a flying mane lies lax at his shoulders. What was once an eye so cold and careless that it could freeze you in your very steps, gives a soft, curious shimmer in the pale light coming in through his stall door. You could almost even pass him off as a normal, playful, outgoing little foal when he's like this, loving to have his chin scratched in just that perfect way. But my goodness is he
needy. If you're not brushing him, you
should be, or you
better have an apple biscuit on hand to make up for it. Constant lavishing of affection is an absolute
staple.... hey, just because he becomes a more tolerable barn buddy when he's alone with me doesn't mean that he's made a complete, miracle personality change! He's still just as spoiled of an arrogant baby boy as ever, demanding the very best from me and at all times. He's just much slicker and sweeter about how he gets his way in such instances, of course. He’s very intelligent, and
oh so sly. He knows just how to look at you with those lovely eyes of his, knows
just how to nicker and nibble at the back of your hair when you're knelt down to his level, that when he
finally wheedles and quietly pries into your weaknesses (which he does in such an adorable way that you would
never realize it), you're his forever.
