The Answer:
When I was drawing him,
he started with a pure black coat, with the little white flecks shining through.
I wanted him to be a paint, so I began adding white splotches as I went, which started at his eyes.
By the time I was finished, I looked at him, and one thought rolled through my head:
"He's like looking up at the night sky through scattered snow clouds, with the stars and snow mingling together about his pelt..."
