Fact about Night Shade's History: As a foal, he was exploring some caves in the near by cliff. He soon neighed when he saw a snake, causing some heavy plantation to fall on top of him. Being a foal, he couldn't hold much wait. All attempts to get up failed. Being in the hot sun for quite some time, only his nose was showing from underneath the plantation, and was burned permanently. Later, some members of the herd helped him get up. But he is now left with a permanently burned nose.

Fact about Night Shade's coat: After his incidence as a foal, he preferred to remain in the shade. Fearing he would be burned by the suns searing heat once more. He was first born with a white coat, but as he aged, his coat began to darken; leaving very little white on his neck, back, and muzzle, for camouflage in the shade of the night. Hence why he was given the name Night Shade.
