An Experiment was proposed, to create a fertile species able to reproduce without genetic engineering. Hopes were high and expectations of success were understandably low. Using Emu as a base, the genetic DNA strand was viewed and changed using a special program to determine the outcome of the change; to create a new species able to reproduce was a difficult challenge for the syentists, but soon it would be revealed.

The orange light goes off and the green light comes on, all of the syentists in the room gathered around the tube as the new creation was taken out and cleaned; more importantly, checked. 'By god, we've done it,' a view syentist breathed what all only thought. The first fertile species created in InterFector Factory had been created, cleaned and checked; now all that was needed was for them to reproduce to complete the test. Hopes are soaring, as well as expectations.

Edit: The view team has found the nest and three perfectly healthy eggs. after a quick inspection, the eggs are hard as rocks, little to no predator would be able to break them. Now we know why the parents both left. the eggs are heavy as well as covered in a thin layer of slime. tests conclude that the slime is poisonous, but only to immediate predatory animals like lions, vultures, and falcons. We expect great things from these eggs and will watch them closely until they hatch.

Edit 2: the eggs have hatched and the parents are spending more time around the nest. success! three healthy young Mauoo have been born. (Personal note, okay, admit it, those eggs look pretty cool cracked open huh?)

These Mauoo are strict property of IF and are not available for adoption, however, their offspring will be. it is presumed they will have up to three per pair.

The male Mauoo is flightless, and is capable of sprinting at land speeds up to 57 mph, they have decorative feathers to display their individual desire to mate, when mature, a tough bone cartilage grows from the forehead symbolizing maturity. The male are around 4'3" - 7'6" and can weigh 90-130lbs.

The female Mauoo is able to fly and has significantly less feather weight than males, not only do they not have a very decorative chests or tails. The female are 4'4" - 7' and can weigh 70-95lbs.

It has been tested and proven that the Mauoo are able to see colors, the greater variety of color and speed for a male, the more likely they are to mate.

I don't know if they've bred or had eggs yet, they were placed in a special exhibit cage to allow free roaming. not to mention outside. We'll find out in a few days I hope for the best *crosses fingers*

The team is searching for the eggs (Or live young, as you stated) at this moment, We can only hope we find the nest while both the parents are out. Our Research syentists are currently learning why the case may be. the current thought is lack of predators, but we're not sure.

Wonderful, absolutely stunning.
The succes of these creations are one of the biggest breaktroughs since the first facilety was destroyed.
The eggs are really facinating and I look foreward to the reveal of the offspring.
Congratulations Troblsom! The sientists have done great work under your command. I am really proud of what I see and hope to see more succes.
I'd really like to know how the chicks are going to break trough those thick shells.

I have a few theories, perhaps, same as the ostrich, the parents will help break through the shells, and perhaps it will soften when hatching comes. We won't know exactly until the time comes (Which will be in a couple of days)
