Short Story:
The fierce wind whistled through the clouds, whipping them up and whirling them around my legs and my head. I swished my tail, and reared up towards the sky, neighing a powerful, loud neigh to the empty air. Everything seemed so empty, so barren. I felt restless, and maybe a bit head-strong too, but I couldn't help it - it was that wind, the wind that seemed to be calling me somewhere, somehow. I stomped a hoof powerfully against the clouds below me, and I shook my head, snorting fiercely. There just had to be something, something that was going to happen. Some reason why the wind was calling me like this. I whinnied again, softer this time, trying to rid myself of the restless feeling that was overcoming me. But it didn't seem to be working, so I took a step back. I lowered my head, and fixed my eyes on the distant, lighter clouds. Then, I waited.
It first came as a wispy shadow, frail and skittery. I couldn't pinpoint what it was, so I walked towards it slowly, as if in a trance. Then, as a powerful, masculine neigh came through the clouds, I knew. This was what I had been waiting for. This was what had brought that feeling. I reared again, then started trotting towards the un-known stallion, my strong legs taking high-stepping strides, strides that drummed powerfully against the clouds. I neighed a loud, challenging neigh, challenging the stallion to come closer, to see what he could see.
But it seemed like I had met my match. The stallion came closer, replying with a louder neigh, and he started cantering, taking long, powerful strides. Within moments he was almost next to me, and I could see his buckskin coat, the sun shining off it, and his darker legs, which seemed to dissapear in the clouds below. He whinnied triumphantly, and a shower of sparks shot off his antlers. I snorted, then started to charge up my own pair of antlers. They started to glow eerily, and sparks started to rapidly shoot of them, in all directions, radiating light. Then, a blinding flash came, and a thunderbolt shot down, towards the earth below. A loud boom replied, and everything went a shade darker.
The stallion snorted, then bucked, more sparks shooting off his antlers. He came closer, then reared, creating his own thunderbolt. Light illuminated his antlers, and he neighed again, leaping towards me. I snorted, and leapt to the side, evading him, my strong hooves pounding on the clouds, drumming rain out of them. The stallion whinnied in mock annoyance, then leapt again, coming closer. This time I let him nearly touch him, before I charged my antlers again, and another lightning bolt lit up the sky. This hardly deterred the stallion - he merely shook his head, then neighed again. Then, I took a step closer, feeling excited in all of the action, feeling joyful and lively. I lowered my head, then took a step towards the stallion, shaking my antlers at him.
He snorted, then lowered his head, interlocking his antlers with mine. Even if I had wanted to, it would have been difficult to break free of that hold. I pawed the ground excitedly, and started charging energy, and the stallion did, too. Soon our whole bodies were illuminated in light, and sparks started to fly in all directions. Everything became brighter and brighter, until the light was almost blinding.
Then, with an explosion of sound and light, a single lighting bolt shot down, the brightest and strongest of them all.
{The other tempestine is Khassian, my stallion. The story is a bit long, so just say if you want me to shorten it a little}
