Personality: Littlekit was always determined to be the best. Being the smallest of her litter, she craved attention, because she couldn't do everything her bigger siblings could. In the end, she was often ignored. This made her lonely, irritable, and jealous - not a good combination in a kit. Now, she's probably even more jealous and bitter, and while Starclan tries to help her, she often just stays by herself there. She watches her siblings with deep sadness, mourning the fact that she can't be with them, becoming a warrior and having a family of her own. However, there is jealousy there as well. Jealousy that the young she-kit will probably harbor forever. She also seems to hate full moons, although no one is sure why.
That New Leaf Moonhigh I Died: I had been sitting outside the nursery. It was bright outside, it was sunhigh after all, and I hated it. Everybody else was so cheerful...And I was miserable. It wasn't fair!
Mother was watching my siblings play, and I just ignored them, until they began to boast.
"Momma, I can jump all the way to that rock!" and "Momma, look how high I can leap!" along with "Momma, look how fast I am!"
Desperation egged me on, and before I knew it I spoke up. "I can do stuff too! I can climb to the top of this tree!" I looked up at the tree beside the nursery.
"Littlekit, don't lie." Mother's response stung to the core. "Go back in the nursery." Her gaze went back to my siblings.
Now I was angry and determined. I'll show them! I'll make them see that I'm not useless!
I dug my claws into the bark, trying to haul myself up. All of my siblings had climbed to the first branch. I'd even tried, because the warriors were showing us. So, I brought that lesson to mind as I climbed upwards, until I finally reached the first branch.
"Littlekit, get down!" Mother looked angry. "You're going to get hurt!"
I climbed up slowly to the next branch. This one was flinsier, and I had to dig my claws in so I wouldn't fall. It wasscary, yet exhilerating all at the same time. Yet again I climbed upwards to an even flimsier branch, triumphant.
"Littlekit, I said get down!" Mother looked even angrier.
"But-" My protest was never finished because I heard a sickening snap, and then I was plummetting downwards.
"Momma!" I let out a wail.
"Littlekit!" That was the last thing I heard before I heard another sickening sound. A thud. And as I heard that sound, everything went black as reality faded away...
I could hear voices. But I felt so weak, so while I opened my eyes I didn't move. Everything hurt, and so I stared blankly out the exit of the den. There was the moon, a big circle bobbing in the sky. A full moon...Was that a good sign?
"There's nothing more I can do. She's in the paws of Starclan now." Was that our clan's medicine cat? I didn't feel like turning my head to find out.
Before my eyes, a shape began to appear. It was blurry - or was that just my eyesight? - but it glowed.
A Starclan cat? Have they come to save me? Hope flooded through me.
"Littlekit," It was a tom. I knew that now that I'd heard his voice.
"Who are you?"
"We'll have time for introductions later. You just need to know why I'm here."
"Are you going to save me?"
Pain flickered in his eyes. "No, young one. I'm sorry. I'm here to guide you to Starclan."
"No!" I wailed pitifully. "I can't go yet! I haven't even become an apprentice! I want to live!"
"I'm sorry." He whispered, shaking his head. "It's your time. Come."
I could feel something tugging at me as I stood up. I didn't feel weak anymore, and my vision had cleared. But as I looked around, I saw my own body, and I began to cry again.
"I'm sorry, Littlekit." I shut my eyes to try and stop the flow of tears as the tom spoke again. "But Starclan isn't all that bad. You'll be safe here."
But I don't want that...
