Story:(how he lost the leg)
The teenaged warrior moved along easily behind his parents and cousins. Kaden sprinted forwards, pouncing on his cousin's tail and smashing it down with both paws. She turned on him and they got into a friendly tussle, eventually his parents paused and straightened them out. The small group of WOI moved on, just beginning to spread out when everyone froze. A snarl rang out, but none of Kaden's family had made the noise. And then, bam. They were surrounded. Other WOI, another lost pack. The tension in the air snapped and they descended. The whole scene became very confused and before he knew it, Kaden was facing off against a full grown male. The teenie growled and launched himself at the other warrior. The adult was caught off balance and stumbled, starting to bleed from the claw marks on his chest. But the teenie hanging on his ear just made him mad. He snapped at Kaden, catching his right front leg and yanking. Kaden cried out in pain, the leg becoming numb. One of her parents heard his screech and came to his rescue.
His mother then got him out of there and to a nearby cave they had planned to use as an overnight shelter. But it became his nursery for the next few weeks, the limb was barely attached and was dislocated. The blood-flow to it got progressively worse and it was lost. It wasn’t pretty and his family members couldn't watch anymore. They left him for dead, and he went through a delirious phase in his recovery in which he lost most of his memories, or just couldn’t distinguish between real memories and false ones. It wasn’t pretty but he was saved when the he lost the entire leg. It became clear he couldn’t live on his own this way and he stumbled into Rayo’s pack in his search for other warriors.

Why I chose him~
This is the first WOI I have tried for, though he's not the only one I've looked over. I've been waiting in the shadows for a while, looking for the perfect boy for an idea I'd had. The idea was a WOI with no face roaming around in my head, but he gives that WOI a face remarkably well. His eyes and leg just melded into that personality I'd had in my head, creating the uniqueness of Kaden.
His coat design is relatively simple and that's another thing that drew me to him, his golden stripes and change in base color perfected it. The design is only face value though, it's the thing that draws you in and first gives you a spark of connection. While I was working on deepening his character, that's when I really became connected to Kaden. I can picture his base character well and if I do win him it'll be fun to explore the rest of his quirks and inner workings.
On a related note, on Friday I got a bad rope burn on my right hand from a horse and had to keep ice on it at all times to avoid debilitating pain. Therefore I couldn't use that hand, and while this isn't really like what Kaden must've gone through I did gain some further insight into how one might cope with losing or not being able to use a limb anymore. It gave me just that much more of a connection with Kaden, though I hadn't planned on it.
