Kris' favorite part is the diversity of moods snow can bring. When snow has just fallen and the air is crisp, children run around and throw snowballs at eachother and build giant snowmen, yet, in a snowstorm, people are seperately seeking the comfort and warmth of their homes. In short, one moment you can be desperate and freezing, the next you could be laughing as if there isn't a care in the world.

The best type of snow is the night snow. You see it through the window, staring into the open black sky, all expectant. The first snow of Winter. And there it is! Fluffy white flakes pouring from the sky, standing out white against blue-black, like glitter in a snowglobe. And in the morning, it's all still there.
In the night, you see it fall, and you stay up all night watching and waiting. Until the sun comes up and makes the snow and frost glitter like tiny diamonds, and you listen very carefully to the radio. SNOW DAY! and you bundle up warm, in hat and scarf and gloves and run in the garden, and the first footsteps you see are yours, deep in the snow, the only marks when everything else is covered in a white blanket.
My favorite thing about snow is how beautiful it is, how clean and sparkly and smooth, straight in the morning at sunrise, when nobody else has touched it, and all of it is yours.
