Big City Kitty





"I-it's Climax..."


I chose the name Climax because of two reasons.
My first reason is that a climax is the peak of a story, the turning point you can say. And for this little Mutato, he wants to be apart of something big. Something that everyone will remember, and for him, its being apart of a city. Even though he's the size of a basketball, he wants to make a difference. No matter what it is, he find a way to know. To know the reason why he is here; to find the climax in his story. Even if it means he has to work his way from the lowest to the top, he knows he will soar to the sky with something no one else has when facing a huge city. Freedom.
My second reason for picking this name might not be as deep as the first, but still is a reason. There is a city in Texas named Climax. It is seen as city, but its population is 0. It is now know as a Ghost Town. Most Ghost Towns appear when people slowly move out and maybe even give up on its town; giving up on something that used to be big and known. Naming this Mutao Climax, I know that he will never give up on himself. He wants to follow his dreams in the bright and beautiful city, and there is no way anyone can knock him down.



"Wanting to do something big? Well, you've gotta feel big first, son."

Someone once told him that. He didn't know the man's name but he was quite nice. Supportive too. He had just arrived on the subway when he met the mysterious man. Climax sat next to him, and soon the two were talking. Climax was telling the man about his dreaming of being apart o something, doing something big. Surprisingly, the old man agreed and believe that he could. Believed that one day Climax would do something that made his bigger than the city itself. Though, Climax didn't believe all that well. So the man decided to show him something. As this certain stop arrived, people filed in and out the subway. Being Climax and the older gentleman being filed out. They waked for a bit, not that long really, and the young Mutato was in front of this huge, towering skyscraper. It seemed to be touching the heavens. Still following the man, he quickly showed a card at the guard in the lobby and before Climax knew it, they were inside an elevator. The number above the door kept climbing.

5...7...14...25...

Just climbing and climbing till suddenly, it all stopped. The double doors of the elevator opens and behold! A setting sun. They were just inside a building and now their outside again? On the roof top? The old fellow gestured Climax to come look over the edge. Slowing Climax peeked and...wow. I beautiful skyline. The tops of the building all pieced together like a puzzle as the telephone wires littered with birds added to the effect of where he was. The city. Climax was baffled.

"Wanting to do something big? Well, you've gotta feel big first, son."

Then he heard it. The line he would never forget. The place he'll always want to be. His second home.

Anyways the place where this Mutato would hang out most of his time is on the roofs of building. He loves the skyline and the story above kind of sums it all up. But just being on top of there makes him feel...big. Like he could really reach his dream.

Reason for choosing the name:

Well, I was thinking about big cities and electricity and that brought to my mind technology.
As I was thinking about technology and big cities, I was thinking about how so often we have
so much opportunity to make social contact and connect with others. However it seems like
we so often don't use those opportunities to do that. In big cities people often pass right by
each other too busy and wrapped up with what they need to do that they don't even think to
say hi and be friendly to those all around them. Also with the technology that we now have,
we can use it to contact people who are even very far away, but so often we get distracted
and don't take the time to share our lives with those around us (we will text them but often
don't have time, in person without getting distracted by a phone or something else, to make
the friendship stronger). Technology takes up a whole lot more time than we expect it to.
I was also thinking about online communities. But overall I was looking for the right word to
describe this idea and when I came to the word "network" I knew it should be GENDER name.

Network's favorite place to hang out:

Network loves hanging out at the top of tall buildings! He especially likes the taller buildings at the edge of the city where you can look out one direction and see all of the tall buildings, crowded streets, city lights and multitude of business, and then you look off the other way and see it getting less dense as the countryside turns into trees, small suburbs, and less traffic. The difference is amazing. If you are ever looking for Network but can't find him, you'll know exactly where he is. He is up there at all times of the day, and if you ever go up there you would see why.

Hello, i am HYammie
I would name this Mutato Lights
I chose this name because the only thing he will stop moving for is to stare at the city lights at night. This is because he sees lights as the perfect unity between city and nature, as it exists in both worlds and is a product of both: even if it is produced by the city, everything "behind the scenes" of producing this beauty is natural.
Lights' favorite places to spend his time are the unwalked places in the city.
This is because he has been near industry and skyscrapers his whole life, but has grown up with stories of the dazzling "nature", and wishes to find some for himself. He believes the best places to start would be where nobody goes, as that is where plants and animals might be undisturbed. His dream is to unite the natural world with the man made world, as he believes only then will there be peace and love for all. Many, upon seeing him, think that he's just pacing around like a normal mutato, but he is actually looking for signs of natural life.

Hello, I'm SplashofOrangeJuice! This is the second mutato I've tried for, and I hope to make it my first! I'd like to wish eveyone good luck ^^'

sky·glow /ˈskīˌglō/

Reason below, in it's designated place on the form.

I was puzzled for quite some time on what to name this beauty - City was my first go-to name, but it seemed to be lacking... and then it hit me. There must be a word for the reflection of city lights in the sky, right? I figured I'd give it a shot and I googled it ;) I got several results, one of them being light pollution, which is also known as "skyglow." It just seemed to call to me, this is her name. And, it stuck. <33 [The link will take you to it's wiki page]

Skyglow (or sky glow) is the illumination of the night sky or parts of it.

Inside office buildings and really tall skyscrapers, watching the hustle and bustle of the city below. .........

Skyglow loves high places, and the thrill it gives her when she is among the clouds. Of course, she doesn't quite go that high, but some days it feels as such. She will scale the tallest skyscrapers and look down below at the changing lights and colors of traffic, or out to the horizon and watch the light of day fade away into a cool blue night. When it rains, she seeks shelter inside among the humans in their office spaces, and she stays near to the windows hiding under desks or behind trash cans as to not be seen. On fog filled days, she feels as if she's on top of the world, and, if she's not careful, she may jump off the edge and dive to the city below before flying to the next skyscraper she comes across. ♥

I was planning on animating this, but we'll see if I have time. (:
