bayle was a smart kid.

not necessarily intellectual- they were never one for equations or the periodic table. more... cunning. their mind, like any child's, ate knowledge for every meal. but bayle's mind was more like a gaping maw, whose teeth caught on the little fabrics of existence, devouring anything and anything. and there the knowledge stayed, locked in rows and rows of little alphabetized drawers with the a-z's of everything they've come across.

their innate ability to retain information was noticed when they began to use it to their benefit- from board games where bayle could memorize every past move with incredible precision to spouting off political relations and facts about who knows what. though unexpected, they were not a freak to the other children; instead an endless stash of useless information. to them, bayle was a toy.

bayle's parents were thrilled. become a doctor, they said. or a scientist. wouldn't you like to go to the moon? you're so smart, they crooned.

"no."

hey, sorry i havent been around to give updates on this, ive been busy and distracted and kind of forgotten about it, especially bc my computer hasnt been working. but i have a set end date for this now, please get your forms done by december 2.
