As a younger kid in the neighbourhood he was out in the woods one night and was bitten by a werewolf transforming him into one himself. He has trouble controlling his supernatural abilities and the reason why he tries to be calm and reserved a lot of the time. He stays away from people hoping he won't lose his temper and hurt someone. He wears the cap on his head with animal fangs to remind himself not to get too carried away when he puts it on as well as to conceal his wolf ears that pop up everytime he senses/smells something strong and strange

others: Ever since the incident with the werewolf bite he has been sleep deprived, every night he has animal urges to go and wander around in the woods and hunting. Every morning he is left with dark shadows underneath his eyes and has lead to him always having a bed head.

kateb's fear is due to an incident when he was a child that
included himself and a friend in a pretty nasty situation. they were wandering
around and happened to come across a dog, one who hadn't been taught how to
behave. scared of kateb and his friend, the dog attacked and left his friend with
a finger that doctors couldn't glue on, and kateb unharmed. but because of that
incident, he's still terrified of dogs and wont even get close to one.
