REASON FOR FEAR OF OTHER MAKOS:
Sushimi's fear of makos started with her father. Her father was a normal mako, strong and handsome. When Sushimi was born with her hidious hair and scary eyes, her father immediately abandoned her. She never saw or even knew she had a mother. She was left to grow on her own. She was raised by various sea creatures, but only the octopus would stay with her. The octopus was named Sarr, and he taught her everything she knows. An octopus is acutally very timid in general and is skittish around most creatures. Sushimi gets her shy and skittish personality from the teachings of Sarr. She is especially afraid of makos because Sarr once told her that Makoatls eat their kind (octopuses/octopi). Sushimi does not see herself as a mako at all, but only an octopus. She denies anyone who says other wise. In truth, she is secretly scared that they are right. She grew up fearing makos and thinking they would eat her, but being told she was one herself scared her even more.

Reason for fear of other makos: Caspian has scopophobia—the fear of being seen or stared at by others. This phobia causes Caspian much anxiety and paranoia around other Makos. When Caspian becomes upset and spits ink out of her mouth, it tends to cause more Makos to take notice of her deepening her phobia and worsening her condition of spitting out black ink. Her phobia probably started due to her slightly peculiar looks, but since she doesn't speak no one really knows why she has this fear.

Gender: Male
Reason for fear of other makos: He is afraid of other Makos due to his phobia called 'Casadastraphobia' a fear of falling up into the sky. Because of this he has an uneasy feeling about being around other makos. Worried they will try and tempt him from hiding places he keeps some distance from them. Because of his phobia he avoids other makos- as when he travels on land he has a rock tied to his tail. Making it difficult to flee and hide...it only makes his more anxious to get to his destination to hide again. With the rock and the fear of falling up- other makos could be a threat in a way...what if they took his rock and he fell upwards?? What if they somehow trick him and he falls into the sky?!
He wont take that risk! He'll stay away from them and stick to a roof over his head and a door between him and other makos...
