Reason You Want It:
When I first saw her, I was incredibly fond of her.

She looked very gorgeous, and I was especially drawn to the style of her stripe-like markings. I also thought that her pelt colors were genius; they're pink enough to be colorful, but brown enough to look more natural. That also really attracted me to her. I thought that the blue was a nice contrast to the rest of it as well.

To top it all off, I immediately imagined the character that I wanted her to be. I knew what I wanted her to do with her life. I knew what I wanted her personality to be like. I knew what I wanted her history to be like. This was the main reason that I decided to try for her.

I really love the way that she looks, so she'll have some art ordered of her. I'm also rather fond of drawing, so she would be drawn a LOT. Since I love her personality and history so much, she will also be written about and farther developed if I win her. All-in-all, she would be a very loved main character of mine. <3

Niara has always loved water, and she
was a natural at swimming. She was on
her high school swim team. Part of her
love of water is likely due to some of
her earliest memories being around a
pool.

Favorite Childhood Toy:

Band-Aids.
She loved playing with band-aids
when she was little. They were sticky,
so she could put them pretty much
anywhere and they would stay. They
were fun to blow into the air and then
try to keep in the air. Niara has always
wanted to be a doctor, so she liked that
band-aids helped "fix boo boos". Often
times she would rope her father into
letting her stick band-aids all over his
face, which made her laugh endlessly.

Favorite Color:

Burgundy.
Her father painted a picture for her
when she was little and it was made
of different shades of burgundy. Niara
never really liked the color burgundy at
all until her father made her this
painting. However, it quickly became
her favorite color after he made
this painting for her.

Favorite Drink:

Chocolate Milk.
Niara has to drink a glass of chocolate
milk every night before she goes to
sleep. This is because when she was
little she used to have very bad
nightmares, and her father used to give
her chocolate milk and tell her that it
"kept the nightmares away". Niara
doesn't remember ever having a
nightmare after drinking chocolate
milk before sleep.

Favorite Food:

Cheese Noodles.
Her father worked quite a bit and was
rarely home when Niara was a child.
He always tried his hardest to make it
home in time for dinner, but generally
had trouble doing so. They normally
only ate together if he had the say off
of work. When this happened, he
always made them cheese noodles for
lunch.

Favorite Season:

Winter.
Niara's father was very busy throughout
most of the year. However, winter
meant Christmas, and Christmas meant
he got a holiday vacation. This was
something that Niara always looked
forward to. Plus, she really loves the cold.

didn't realize it when she was younger,
but Niara's father was very worn out
most of the time and never got much
sleep. This was largely due to the fact
that he wanted to be as involved with his
daughter as possible, no matter the
costs. Niara gets her inspiration from

Niara has very little good memories
of her mother. Her mother was, at one
point, a very successful lawyer. However,
her law practice went bankrupt and had
to fire her, and this began her spiral down.
She began to use multiple drugs and drink

her raise their child. Her father left her
mother for the good of Niara and, though
her mother has tried to get back into
Niara's life, she hasn't seen her mother since
she was twelve.

When she was younger it was mainly due to the fact that she believed in monsters, and the dark made her believe that monsters could get her. However, as she got older this changed. Now Niara's fear of the dark is simply because she doesn't like not being able to see. In fact, the idea of not being able to see really, really freaks her out. For this reason, she sleeps with a lamp on.

She loves clocks.

A lot. Niara is completely in love with clocks, especially old clocks. She loves the way clocks look and the older the better. She likes all clocks, but her favorites are old clocks with swinging pendulums. Not only does she like the way that they look, but she also likes the way they sound. That tick-tock sound that can so easily drive someone up the wall is one of her favorite sounds.

However, Niara doesn't just like clocks. She can also put clocks together and fix them, and this is one of her hobbies. Frequently others will come to her with coo-coo clocks that aren't working, and she fixes them, free of charge.

Niara is quite scared of birds.

She doesn't like birds at all. They scare her quite a bit for some unknown reason. It's not just big birds or certain types of birds or anything like that, either. All birds just scare Niara. She's got no real reason to fear them, but she does anyways. Frequently she will avoid places with a lot of birds and hates going into pet stores that sell birds. Parrots freak her out the most because they can talk.

She doesn't like the beach.

Even though she lives very close to the beach, Niara actually isn't that fond of the beach. In fact, she kind of dislikes it. Mazu insisted that they live near the beach because he loves it so much, and she agreed for his sake. However, she often stays at home when Mazu makes trips to the beach. Or, she would stay at home when he made trips to the beach if Mazu didn't make her go.

Beaches normally have a lot of seagulls, which is one reason that Niara doesn't like them. Other than that, she doesn't like tanning or laying out in the sun, and she doesn't like warm weather. Another reason she dislikes them is because she's somewhat socially awkward and crowds make her nervous. While the beaches aren't always crowded, Niara strongly dislikes going to them when they are.

Big bugs, sure, whatever. She can deal with large bugs and even finds them interesting and cool. However, Niara cannot stand small bugs. This fear started out as an annoyance. However, this hatred turned to a fear when a fruit fly flew into her ear while she was going to sleep. It freaked her out and Niara has been scared of small bugs ever since, and she's even more scared of small flying bugs.

Niara is a major survivalist nut.

You know those 'crazy' people you seen on tv that are constantly preparing for the world's end? Yeah, that's Niara. She has a large collection of dry foods, water jugs, first aid kits and several other survival necessities. She's got a rather nice collection of knives and crossbows in case of a zombie apocalypse, too. Niara feels this overwhelming compulsion to prepare for the worse, which is why she's got all these survival supplies and she's been labeled a 'survivalist nut'. This compulsion is likely due to her mother's mistake in not preparing for the worse and it ending up being her undoing.
◘ sleeping habits

She has some strange sleeping habits.

While 'sleeping habits' probably doesn't seem all that strange, they definitely are. First of all, Niara cannot go to sleep without first having a glass of chocolate milk. She's terrified that if she doesn't have a glass of chocolate milk before going to bed that she'll have awful nightmares.

Niara also can't sleep unless she has taken a shower right before getting into her bed. If she doesn't shower before going to sleep her bed feels wrong. She also prefers to sleep with her head under her pillow completely underneath her covers. This is a habit that developed when she would stay up late reading with a flashlight under her blanket.

Niara is terrified of whipped cream.

She avoids whipped cream at all costs. She won't eat a pie with whipped cream on it. She won't eat a strawberry shortcake with whipped cream. She won't go anywhere near whipped cream. Niara has always been incredibly afraid of it, but there seems to be no real reason for her fear. It's just one of those strange things that's there and you don't know why. This fear annoys her quite a bit more than her other fears.

She's completely obsessed with smoothies.

Fruit smoothies, to be exact. Niara's favorite beverage, aside from chocolate milk, is a pomegranate and blueberry smoothie. There is nothing like a nice, cold fruit smoothie. She drinks them obsessively in the summertime because they're cold and help her deal with the hot weather. She's stated that if it weren't for the higher availability of smoothies, she would refuse to "participate in summer".

Niara is very messy.

Her house is frequently kept in a state of chaos, despite her roommate's attempts to keep it tidy. Her binders and notes are equally unorganized and messy, making it impossibly for pretty much anyone other than her to understand them. Even Niara's handwriting follows this trend of messiness.

However, they're not just messy and boom that's it. No, no, no. They're very messy, yes, but in a way that looks pleasing to the eye. She refers to it as 'beautifully chaotic'. It doesn't matter how messy something is, not as long as it looks nice. Niara has clean clothes strewn across her dressers, but they're color coded and make interesting shapes. She's got stacks of papers from medical school all over her home, and, while the handwriting might be awfully hard to understand, they look nice.

I have to say, this contest was actually very difficult to judge. ; v; I was tied between Micki.'s form and -- Chainsaw --'s , and the reason this took a little longer than expected was because they were both tied for me. Niara is very messy.

Her house is frequently kept in a state of chaos, despite her roommate's attempts to keep it tidy. Her binders and notes are equally unorganized and messy, making it impossibly for pretty much anyone other than her to understand them. Even Niara's handwriting follows this trend of messiness.

However, they're not just messy and boom that's it. No, no, no. They're very messy, yes, but in a way that looks pleasing to the eye. She refers to it as 'beautifully chaotic'. It doesn't matter how messy something is, not as long as it looks nice. Niara has clean clothes strewn across her dressers, but they're color coded and make interesting shapes. She's got stacks of papers from medical school all over her home, and, while the handwriting might be awfully hard to understand, they look nice.

A Little Stuffed Giraffe
His name is Jeffery, and he used to have a rattle sewed
to his legs; Trigger ended up chewing it off, though, so
her mother sealed the holes in his feet from the tear and
now he's just an adorable stuffed animal. <3

W h y -- T h e -- G i r a f f e ? ;;
Trigger loves- present tense -
because...well, because. There's really not any real ex-
planation to start off; other than the fact he's hers.
No one else's, just and only hers.

But of course, there is other reasons why Trigger still and
always has loved her little Jeffery. For one, he's small and
delicate - which somehow makes her very protective of him.
He is also a gift from someone when she was a puppy. Trigger
doesn't know who, but she's had her little giraffe as long as
she can remember - the rattle less so - and will never give
him up out of her own free will. <3
