Pleasure to meet you! (Well, not really, we kind of already met XD) Call me Alaska, 'Laska, A, whatever, I'm not picky.

What's The Dinosaur's Name? wrote:Image
This was the name of the nomadic tribe also known as the "Snake" Indians. I chose this name because when I saw a picture on Google of a dark green snake, I saw the two and thought that he looked snake like. I liked this better than Orpheus, who was bitten by a snake. He'll be Sho for short.

Who's The Rider? wrote:Image
"Call me Alex."
Alex is a young lady, full of life and energetic. The name Alexandra means 'man's defender.' I chose this name because I wanted something warrior like, a protector, kind of. Alexandra fit my requirements, and such I picked it (compared to a few others that I liked, like Xandria (defender of humankind, short for Alexandria.)
Alex is rather short, about five foot two (157.48 cm.) She's wiry and thin, which makes her a very good dodger, but an even better fighter. People tend to underestimate her and her abilities. She has long strawberry blonde hair and ocean colored blue eyes, with flecks of browns, golds, and greens towards the pupil. She tends to wear her hair tied up, in a braid, or just out of her way, she needs her space to do stuff. She has pale skin which burns easily in the sunlight, so she tends to wear longer clothing because of her love of the sun. She has a slight dusting of freckles across her nose. She has a sort of short, skinny, and strong build. She's very solid.
Alex is a complex young woman, probably because she has a very wide variety in her personality. She's energetic, excitable, and curious on one hand, but on the other, she's sensible, hard-working, and intelligent. She tries to think before she acts, but sometimes her actions run away with her and she gets distracted from the task at hand and it goes wrong. She will make intelligent decisions even when faced with a very small time limit and something very difficult because she's always focused and wants to do her best. She is very loyal and puts others in front of her, and will protect her loved ones with her life. She can be very focused on one small thing and that small thing will end up perfect, or she'll focus on many things at once, and they'll all be okay. She protects what she believes in with an iron hand and heart, and won't give ground, she's more stubborn than thirteen packs of mules. She believes in herself and others and will not let them down. She's extremely kind and caring and loves to care for others, even when she has something else she wants to do in her life.
She loves the hills, hunting, and being respected. She expects respect, and likes when people respect her. She will respect them in return. She loves to explore, and she'll often spend several days on her own, with water and her bow, hunting and exploring to discover more wonders of the land she lives in. She's an amazing hunter, especially at long range. Her prized possession is her bow, in fact, the one she hunts everything with. She likes using eagle feathers because they make the arrow go faster.
She hates when people are disrespectful and rude. She will often threaten a person because they are being rude or nasty to a friend, family member, or just any other civilian. She doesn't like when everything is in disorder, you could call her a little OCD. She likes having everything organized in her way, even when most people would call it disorganized, it's perfectly organized to her. (Call is organized chaos, if you will.)

Mat'junea is her tribe. Gold and green look amazing together, and she's a fighter and a hunter. She's very proud to be a member of this tribe, however, she does occasionally do some wandering when she's exploring, but not far, just to get the borders down fully on the maps she draws.

"Alexandra!" The yell rang through the forest as my younger sister called for me. I stood up from where I was picking yellow flowers.
"What do you want!" I yelled right back, annoyed. I was extremely busy. I was doing my best to work on a new map, and she was interrupting me.
"Mother says it's time to eat! You have until the sun reaches the edge of the trees before you have to come in!" Juniper yelled back.
"I'll be inside in a moment," I said with a sigh. I looked at the sky, hoping to know how much time I had. Ah. I still had enough time to finish up the area of the map before going indoors. I stood up and slung my pack over my shoulder as I reached for the smooth wood block I was carving with a new map. I marked a small tree where I was, then walked a little, marking things here and there.
I was deep within the woods when I looked up at the sky again. I gasped, realizing I only had a few moments before I would be reprimanded for being late. The worse problem was that I had no clue of where I was. I was, in other words, completely and utterly lost. I had no idea where I was. I looked around, trying to figure out where I was, when I realized that I could just use the map. Why didn't I think of this earlier? Silly me, I thought. I held up the map and tried to make out the details of it. It was difficult because of the low level of light. Squinting, I walked in what I hoped was the right direction, towards my home. I was plunged into darkness as I trekked. I couldn't see the map anymore. With a sigh, I placed my things into my pack and pulled out a flask of water. Taking a deep sip, I let my eyes get used to the light so that I had even a hope of seeing where I was going. I put away the flask of water, readjusted my armor, my pack, and my bow, and looked around.
"Right... I just need to find that rock, and then I know the way," I grumbled. Living on the edge of the territory was sometimes nice, but sometimes difficult. No one would find you if you got lost, but you had more explore space, for example.
I froze suddenly when I heard crashing and a roar.
"What in the fates names' is that?" I whispered. I knew the answer when suddenly a dinosaur appeared right through the trees.
"Holy maps," I whispered as I hid behind a tree to see what it would do. It just sat there and sniffed the air. It reminded me of a snake, like perhaps, an anaconda. "Shoshone is his name," I whispered, thinking of things that meant snake, or were similar to snake. I could nickname him that, if he belonged to someone.
"Or, Sho for short," I continued, just as quietly, yet the dinosaur looked up and around the clearing. I observed it, before realizing it was headed in my direction, and had sniffed me out, and I was likely to--Calm you little head. This is your chance! Use it! Ah, hello sensible part of mind. I sighed, but decided to listen to reason. I crept out of my little hiding spot to see if I could find a new one, but I was caught by the dino looking straight at me. It snorted--or, rather, Sho snorted and moved his head closer to sniff me. I stayed completely still. No back spikes... Odd horns... Hmm. It has the same build as my father's dinosaur, so it has to be the same type. It could be a rarer version? I questioned myself. I stepped away, earning a growl from the dino as I tried to observe it.
"Wow..." I whispered. He was magnificent, and he contrasted well with the golden clothes of my tribe. He sniffed at me again and backed up, observing me to see what my next move was. My next move? Wonder if I could capture him. He was magnificent, and I knew I would regret it if I missed. In fact, I'd totally wreck my coming of age test. So, I'd have to try my hardest. I knew the test was coming up soon, but if I got it done early, and with this dino...
They say once a dino's caught, he trusts the person who caught him completely.
"Let's see what I can do," I muttered as I looked around the clearing. Here goes nothing! I thought.

I had to check twice when I saw that it was me...
I literally squealed. People near me looked at me like I was insane (which I am.)
But thank you so, so much <3
I'll get started on his training right away.

Basic Training #1
It was a chilly morning, and Alexandra herself was a little chilly. She remembered the dinosaur in the woods, and that was what made her jump up out of bed and quickly get dressed in her day clothes. She ran outside and grabbed her pack, totally ignoring her mother, who was offering her some food.
"I'll pick edible berries, Mother! Don't worry about me! I'm... Uh... Exploring!" Alexandra shouted over her shoulder as she jogged into the woods, slinging her pack over her shoulder. She looked around, remembering where she was yesterday. She could see, unlike the dark woods at night, so she reached for her map and followed it to where she was the night before. She looked around, trying to spot the dinosaur.
"Ah! There you are... Shoshone," Alexandra said, recalling the name she had called him last night. She crept over and watched where the dinosaur was tied to a tree. She had nowhere else to put him. She walked over and untied him, earning herself a loud protest roar. Well, the protest was why she tied him up in the first place. Once she had caught him, he had tried to follow her home, so she had had to tie him up. She didn't want her parents finding out about the dinosaur... Yet.
Alexandra stepped away from Shoshone. She looked up at him, and he growled a bit. He nestled himself onto the ground so that his head was about the same height as her. She placed her hand out tentatively, trying not to get her hand bitten off by him, and slowly walked forwards. He growled a bit more. Her hand moved closer to his head, and more growling followed. She closed her eyes, suddenly terrified of the large dinosaur. She stood like that, eyes screwed tightly shut in fear, arm out, slightly growling dinosaur.
Alexandra did not expect the scaly head to meet her hand. She squeaked in terror before opening her eyes, and realized that Shoshone had cleared the space between them. She tentatively rubbed his head, earning herself a pleased sort of noise. She continued to rub his head for a little before letting it drop. She looked at the sun, and nearly shouted out. Almost three hours had passed.
"I have to go, Shoshone. Stay here, okay?" Alexandra told the large dinosaur. Shoshone snorted, then nudged her away, seeming to understand what she had said. She slung her pack again over her shoulder (she had dropped it, earlier) and began to walk away, glad that the dinosaur wasn't following her again.
"I'll be back tomorrow," Alexandra whispered as she exited the forest. When she got back to her home, her mother just gave her a stern look and went back to what she was doing. Alexandra walked back to her bed, placing her things on it then laid down, placing her hands under her head and staring into the middle of nowhere to reflect on her day. She didn't notice the fact that her hand was slightly raw, relishing too much in the joy of having Shoshone.

{{I'd just like to point out that Shoshone is pronounced shoh/SHOH/nee}}

Basic Training #2
It had been a month since Alexandra had first touched the dinosaur, and every day she had visited him. She had sneaked an extra saddle and bridle from her father's dinosaur. They were just the extras, so he hadn't figured it out yet. She had stored them in the clearing with the dinosaur, and had finally decided it was time to try and saddle and bridle Shoshone.
"Sho? I'm here!" Alexandra announced as she walked into the clearing, earning a happy noise from the large reptile. She walked up to him and scratched his chin, earning another happy noise. She walked to the area where she had store the two pieces of equipment and brought them over.
"Sho, today I'm going to try and figure out how these fit on you, okay? So... Don't freak out, please," She said, trying to lift the extremely heavy saddle. She shook her head, that wouldn't work. Maybe if she used a tree branch? Shoshone snorted, trying to figure out what she was doing.
Alexandra finally had gotten the saddle in the air and was trying to convince Shoshone to get under it by handing him bits of jerky, and it was working. Once he was under it, she let the saddle go down on her makeshift pulley, making it land on Sho's back, making him stand up suddenly and snort angrily.
"No! Wait! Shoshone! Silly boy!" She said, and with a sigh, she poured out every bit of treat that she had for the dinosaur, which distracted him. She just hoped she could get everything done while he was eating.
Alexandra began to attach everything as best to her ability, and even managed the bridle pretty well (however, that angered Sho a little, but he decided that the salted meat was more worth then getting angry over something being put over his head.) Once Sho was done, she motioned for him to stand up and he did.
Alexandra looked at her handiwork proudly... And then Sho got a little angry at the confining bits of leather, chasing her around the clearing a couple of times before realizing that the objects didn't hinder his movement, and they didn't feel heavy, so he stopped.
"I'll see you tomorrow... When you're calmer and not trying to eat me..." Alexandra grumbled before running off back towards her home.
