-----Generations ago a legend was born long before our time. In the heart of
Rome, Italy was a river that passed through the town. This river was sacred
to the people for its holy powers. It was believed that a child had drowned in
this river and none other than God had revived him. The townspeople rejoiced
with such happiness it was truly a sight to see. They had prayed to God every
night in hopes their child would be okay and once those prayers were answered
they simply forgot. The people went back to their everyday lives, almost as if
the event had never happened. All but one person. The child continued to pray
his thanks each and every night. He thanked the heavens for their help and
kindness and asked his family be watched over.
-----And so it was done. The childs family was protected and blessed by an invisible
force. Little did they know this was not Gods doing. All this time, all these prayers,
all the subtle 'thank you's. The people never knew God was not the one to bless them.
An old wives tale tells of a seal and crane like day and night. The two fought endlessly
over who should control what. The crane was bestowed the power of day, spreading
her wings to bring light to the world. The seal was given the power of night, giving him
the ability to create constellations and swim through the stars. Though they were never
happy. Crane wanted night so she could cover the sun with her feathers. But Seal wanted
to keep his job as the night just to anger Crane.
-----The day the child drowned in the river his spirit was brought up between Crane and
Seal. They bickered over who would keep his soul. The child intervened, pleading to them
to stop their fighting. It was only then they realized the truth. They were never meant
to argue. Their purpose was to balance one another, to bring equality over earth. An
understanding then formed between the two as well as an unbreakable bond. Together
they blessed the child and sent him back to the world. Each and every night the child
prayed to Crane and Seal. This little prayer kept them from fighting, strengthening
their trust and allowing their spirits to grow. They each had a job to do and their
disagreements would only make it harder.
-----But that's only a legend! You wouldn't really believe it would you?
