Asurika
(Ah-zure-rih-kah)

Her name Asurika was chosen by her grandmother because it means divine and it is an overall nice sounding name, but because it is such a mouthful to say, Asurika prefers to be called Asuri or Rika, althought Asuri is the most commonly used nickname of the two.

Asuri is a female

The most memorable day.. Was when my element was first discovered...
My element was found when I was still just a young Kia, I didn't know any better and I had not realized the importance of that day until I put my special gift into a good use that made me realize my potential on this earth. I shall tell from the beginning in detail so you will get to understand me better.

~~~~~~
The wind swirled around the shore of the icy waters as the tides lapped up heavily on the cliffs. The sun was lowering creating ethereal colors blanketing the once dulled sky. Asuri lived on an island that linked to a forest through a river, she lived there with her family, friends and neighbours. The Kias around her always told her she was gifted when it came to events revolving around water activities such as swimming but she always just shrugged the complements off, besides, Asuri didn't think it was such a great achievement.
The sky darkened and the stars came out, each shimmering across the waters giving it a graceful and enchanting aura in the dim light. Asuri wanted to stay outside for a little longer just to think about some things that were going on in her life. She made her way to her favorite secret spot up on a rocky cliff by the water. She streched out in the cool grass by the cliffs edge. There were some cardinal flowers that grew on the ledge, and they were Asuri's most favored flower because of their ravishing bright colors and the sweet honey-like scent they gave off.
She laid her head down on her paws to rest, and her eyes got heavier with each passing second and before she knew it, she had fallen into a deep slumber.
All was black and in the back of her mind she thought she could hear voices, but she payed no heed to them. The noise got louder and her ear twitched, she could feel her eyes flutter open and her head lifted slightly.
It was still night outside and nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary so far. Asuri glanced around with droopy eyes, she felt very tired so she laid her head back down and that's when she heard a shriek. Immediately Asuri jumped to her feet and looked around trying to find where it came from. A shiver ran through her body as the thought of it being a ghost crossed her mind. What if there really are ghosts? Another shriek broke through the air followed by the sound of splashing water. Asuri looked down the cliff to find there was someone drowning. Oh dear God. She thought. She looked around to see if anyone else was around, but being so late at night there was no one around so she was out of luck. She knew if she ran all the way to the shoreline that it'd be too late, so she took a deep breath and leaped from the cliff.
The wind blew at her fur, brushing her hair aside from her face. She emerged into the water and she swam almost perfectly towards the Kia. The waves had started to pick up and she hurried over to the Kia. Asuri tried to help them, but the terrified Kia grabbed onto Asuri and pulled her into the water with her. Asuri's vision blurred and she tried to swim but couldn't. It was all too suffocating and she somehow knew where her fate would lie now, but what she didn't account for, was that there was another way.
Asuri opened her eyes. Am I dead? Is this the afterlife? She questioned. Asuri looked around to find that she was floating on top of a whirlpool of water. She wasn't in the depths of the dark and cold water, but rather was standing on it. Asuri looked around, noticing the Kia from earlier was also saved by the water and it was carrying them all to shore. It was broad daylight outside and yet the day seemed so.. Unreal.. Did I do this? Asuri pondered. Asuri closed her eyes for a moment, and she chanted words through her mind directed towards the water, and at once the tides rose and drifted them both to shore unharmed and safe. The other Kia thanks Asuri for saving her, and they became best friends, which made Asuri overjoyed because she has never had any friends before on this small and isolated island.
To this day Asuri has been forever grateful for her wonderful gift, she has used it for many needs such as bringing in the rain when they needed it and helping others. Asuri knows that she can even have a great impact on the earth and that she can put her gift to good use.
The currents churn
With unfinished deals
A storm rages
Above the tide
With a trickling stream
Life flows on by
A gentle bubble of air
Float to the surface
The tide pool sings
With a starfish pal
All living organisms
Revolve around me
The moon pulls me to and fro
Art thou the goddess of me
Command my kind, my brethren round
Artemis will thee hark my songs?
Whirl pool spin me round spin me round
Thy fury makes me drown
Hide me away from the sights of the mournful
O most feared, swallow them whole
Image
O Waterfall pour me, pour me through thy rocks
Arethusa free me into the air
Make me vapor
Make me fog
Set thy eerie feeling
Set thy wish upon us
We're nothing but the broken old
Cent'ries upon Cent'ries ago
The sun boil me into thy air
Art thou the god of me
Command my kind, my brethren 'round
Apollo will thy acclaim me worthy?
Tsunami, hurricanes, typhoons, tidal waves
All part of what I am
Am I thy monster to vanquish the fires
And destroy the homes of innocents?
Rain, drizzle
All part of who I am
Am I thy angel to feed thy flowers
And give life to the poor?
Atlantikos ♀
    ❊ Commonly known by the nickname of Atta.
    ❊ Her name is the Greek word for the Atlantic Ocean.
    Image
    It’s not until the smooth stone is brushing my cheek that I realize I’ve made one hell of a mistake. Do I regret it? The gem glimmers a bit in the dim lighting, each of the brilliant shades of blue snagging in my gaze. No, this may be a mistake to some, but I regret nothing.
    The ship I’m on teeters as it plows against the current, and maybe if I wasn’t so bewildered by the priceless jewel in my paw, I’d feel nauseated. The only emotion pounding in my head, though, is fear. I’ve gotta get out of here.
    I twist up the gem with a string and loop it around my arm casually, my feathers looking tacky in comparison. After I’ve secured my prize, I peer out a crevice in the wooden planks of the ship. No one is in sight, so I proceed to make my escape.
    Now in the open, clear air batters my face. A dark open sea stares at me, its cyan color mediocre next to my priceless blue. I let a breath slide into my lungs; if I make it down into the bilge and hide out until the vessel docks, I may actually make it.
    “You there!” The gruff voice is right on my neck, and, without meaning to, I expel a high shriek. I make the error of turning around, and as soon as the male Kiamara sees me, his eyes dilate in horror.
    “You! I told you to stay away from me!”
    “Ha!” My confidence is flittering back now. “Why so?”
    “You know why.” He snarls, and the words aren’t even out of his mouth for a second before the blue catches in his eye. At that, his voice drops to a deep, threatening whisper. “Give that back.”
    I’m so worried, all of my fear is bubbling up in my gut and now I’m giggling with hysteria. I dangle the sapphire right in his face. “Can’t propose to her without a ring, now can you?”
    He catapults on top of me, every clash of his teeth and blaze of his fiery eyes alight with anguish. I use my legs to knock him off, but my attempts are futile as his sharp paws strike my chest and bruise my arms.
    “You’re hurting me!” I scream, as if that justified it. I snuck on his ship, stole his handcrafted gemstone, and caused him so much agony in the past. I’m pathetic.
    “Give me my stone back!” he yelps, attempting to cut the strings around my wrist. I impress myself by performing a rollover and dodging his striking paws.
    It never occurred to me how close we were to the edge.
    He rounds on me once again, and my mind is reeling so fast that I don’t tell him to stop. Before either of us realizes it, I’m slipping off the edge of the ship. Life turns into an all-too-fast, all-to-scary, all-to-unreal blur and I fall to the ocean in a splurge of brine water.
    I must have hit my head against the wood on the way down, because the throbbing of my skull is more violent than heavy metal. The blanket of water shimmers over where the sky should be and I think, wow, this is it. I’m not even scared, just surprised that they all finally caught up to me and my crimes. My touch brushes the sapphire. At least I’m going to die a success.
    The pressure of the ocean is squeezing my entire stomach and, giving in, my body sucks up a huge gulp of water that fills my lungs and makes me want to cry in torment. My dying body spasms, and the injury on my head and neck is not much better. There’s suddenly a very urgent discomfort on my neck, and I rub against the gills vigorously.
    Gills.
    I hadn’t even realized they were there but once I felt the fleshed out organ, I massage it like mad. It took a few seconds to get the foreign process working but once it did I began respiring, and fresh, beautiful oxygen flowed to my brain.
    I sink down in a bed of sand, the respiration renewing me with its pleasure. Once I’m strong I peer up at the stern of the boat, churning away into the distance. He must think I’m dead.
    It’s all coming back to me, and I brighten with pride. I am alive. I am a success. I am a heartbreaker.
    I am a water goddess.
    I shoot up the fluent currents and breach the sea, throwing my cold, tangled hair back onto my neck. The cold air is amazing on my wet face. I laugh to the sky.
    No one can stop me now.
The day my element was discovered:
It was a warm,spring day. The air was full of fragrances of bright flowers that just bloomed. After a nice lunch, I went to lovely pond with a large tree with light blue flowers growing on it. I was sitting close to the water playing with the flower petals that fell from the trees. I was just young Kia back then... One of the petals fell in the water and I couldn't seem to reach it from the shore. I reached as far as I could to it. Suddenly, I lost my balance and fell in. I felt myself sinking to the bottom like a stone in water. I could see the surface but I couldn't swim to it. Then I saw the blue petal next me. I grabbed it and held it close to me. I wanted to drowned with it with me. When I thought it was the end,when I thought I was going to be the end,I closed my eyes and thought of peace and of my family and everything that I would miss dearly. I then saw a flicker in the flower. Something that I had never seen before. It seemed to have created some kind of air bubble around me and I could suddenly breath. I looked around at the water and the nature in the water. There is nothing more beautiful to me in my life. I was suddenly at peace and at rest. I kept thinking to myself "Is this what death feels like?" Then I felt myself pulling up and pushing towards the shore. When I resurfaced and got the shore,I wasn't ,surprisingly, out of breath and I didn't have a single drop of water on me. When I left the pond that day,I promised myself that I would never forget what happened that very day.
Ἀμφιτρίτη
~Fall Out Boy's Return~
Name:
Amphitrite
Amphitrite was the name of the Greek God Poseidon's wife.
Gender:
Female
The day my element was discovered:
I remember the day... I was down at the beach, as usual. The sun was shining above, the waves were crashing on shore, and the dolphins were talking to eachother and jumping the tides off in the distance. The warm solar rays were warming my back, and I felt completely at ease. I trotted around and saw a cute little boat sitting on the shore. It was a cute little boat, big enough to fit two kias around my size. The paint design on the sides of it was white with blue waves on the bottom. I looked around at it, and I saw a small little note stuck to the side of it. I read it.
Happy Birthday Amphie.
-Mom
I felt jittery with excitement, since I had been asking my mom for a boat for such a long time. Without even acknowledging the dark clouds approaching from behind me, I hopped in and set sail in the tiny sail boat. The water was peaceful for a long time, when all the sudden the waves started to get larger. I didn't think anything of it, since I was going so fast with the high winds. The sky started to darken, and I looked back to find that land was nowhere in sight. A small droplet of water landed on my nose, and next thing I knew water was down pouring over the ocean.
The waves grew more furious and the wind had broken my sail. My fur was clung to my skin uncomfortably with the rain, making my skin feel horribly cold. My claws dug into the wood of the boat, but my efforts were useless as a wave crashed over me, knocking me into the water.
I opened up my eyes and looked around. Little fish were swimming around me, and a strange, eerie blue light lit up the water. I looked down at the charm hanging from my paw, to find it glowing brightly with a bright aqua color. My eyes grew wide, and I took a deep breath. Then I froze. I just took a deep breath.... Underwater. I felt a panic feeling growing in my gut, and just then I felt a shark push past me. I looked down at the ocean, into the darkness, to see several luminescent fish in a line. They seemed to be trying to lead me somewhere. Since I really had no other hope, I followed them.
I swam along with the fish, and I started to see light breaking through the water. My legs felt really tired, and I pushed myself more and more until I finally reached shore. I plopped myself down onto the sand, and my fur was completely dry. I was so incredibly confused. I had no idea what was happening to myself. The charm around my paw was glowing brightly as ever, and it almost seemed to be pulling somewhere. When I caught my breath, I started walking ahead of me, searching aimlessly on the island. The island was tropical and covered in amazing tropical animals and delicious fruit that I must have taken about 100 breaks to stop and eat. I couldn't get enough of it. My paws trotted neatly across the soft, dirt ground. I stopped in my tracks.
Looking up, I saw two huge stone pillars, making an entrance. Around them, there seemed to be more pillars making a circle around a treeless clearing. My charm was tugging at my arm more desperately, directly towards the entrance. I felt a bit shaky, and I really didn't want to go forward, but the pulling was almost moving my paw itself. Slowly, I crept forward into the shrine.
Beautiful, bright glowing moon flowers filled the inside of the clearing. They seemed to be soaking up the moonlight above. The stars were so sparkly... Like the ocean at sunset. Ahead of me, I saw the top of a statue. I approached it, and as I got closer, the tugging at my paw grew more furious. When I finally got to the statue, I froze.
There was a water moat around the statue. Little koi fish were swimming around in it, their brilliant colored scales shining in the light of the flowers. Two koi fish stuck out to me the most. One was black with a white spot on its forehead, and the other was white, with a black spot on its forehead. Yin and Yang. I looked up at the statue. It resembled myself. It looked exactly like me. And located where the eyes were... Stones. Glowing, aqua blue stones. Their glowing was incredibly bright, matching the shine of my charm. It had finally stopped pulling.
Below the statue, was a sign. It read:
Ἀμφιτρίτη, κόρη της θάλασσας
Amphritrite, daughter of the sea.
Theme song: Don't Fall Asleep At The Helm - Sleeping With Sirens
I lost my heart, my home is the ocean.
The waves underneath will soon be my home.
I will fall asleep.
I'll close my eyes and dream of days when I wasn't all alone.
All that I know is gone
(Take what is left of me now)
All that I know is gone
(Take what is left of me)
Fall deeper and deeper, the sirens are singing your songs.
I'll miss my breath, there's no more left.
I'll miss the sound of the wind at my back.
The depths have a number, they call you by name.
Fall asleep, Davy Jones calls you.
So fall asleep, fall asleep and dream.
All that I know is gone
(Take what is left of me now)
All that I know is gone
(Take what is left of me)
Fall deeper and deeper, the sirens are singing your songs.
    { the day my element was discovered }
      Some might consider it a pleasurable day today on the far east of the isle. I knew there were days far better than this, nice warm days with the occasional breeze. Today was a rather hot and humid day, and the waves crashed endlessly into the distance. The den I lived in was a small forest at the end of the beach, where the moss met the sand as it slowly just turned into dirt and grass. The branches of the tress stayed idle as the leaves lightly swayed among the breeze. I emerged slightly from the cave, my eyes peeking out from the sand ever so slightly. The beach here didn't interest me in the least. Today I was left on my own while my mother was out, all day I had been studying a mysterious curse, a kiamara once thought to be the embodiment of the water element. I had taken keen interest in this topic the past few months, after a nightmare I had. After hours of pondering, I intended to go to my hidden paradise, a small waterfall located in the heart of the forest. I padded slowly through, savoring the squish of the moss against my paws. There seemed to be an endless amount of trees, and I thanked myself again for making a trail. I lifted my head regally and inhaled. I could almost smell the sweet scent of the blooming flowers that surrounded my special waterfall. Nobody ever visited because the woods were an easy way to get lost, but I had been roaming these woods since I was barely able to walk and I knew it like the back of my paw.
      As I neared the water, I noticed a small stream now leading into the lightly colored flowers surrounding the small lake. I disregarded it, as it seemed meaningless and probably the doing of some other animal. I stopped at the water's edge, admiring the beautiful scene before me. It was of a large rocky cliff area, covered in leaves and greenery. Two logs had fallen in the middle, with water flowing out. This waterfall wasn't the loud, crashing type so much as the soft, flowing calm type. The water emptied into a small lake, glimmering against the sun. It was surrounded with lush greenery and bordered by flowers of every type. And then I noticed something new, a bunch of streams flowing toward me.
      It was as if it happened in slow motion. The two logs holding up the waterfall cracked in half, and out came gallons of water gushing out of the trees. In seconds it scooped me up, carrying me out to the ocean. I clawed against the trees to no avail, it was to take me wherever it lead. I popped my head on the top of the water, gulping for air. I turned around to come face to face with a huge tree branch. I used all my strength and leaped on to it, barely making it. I held on for dear life as the water carried me further. I could feel my paws slipping on the branch, and I knew that I wouldn't last much longer. I attempted to scan the area, when the branch slipped from under me, sending me into the now debris filled current.
      ---
      My eyes fluttered open, my heart still rapidly beating from the earlier collapse of the waterfall. I raised my head, observing the cliff I was now stranded on. I guessed this as the west side of the island, but I couldn't be sure. I raised my paw up lightly, and I watched as the water crashed violently to my left. My eyes widened. "How could that be?" I asked "The water is always calm." I focused on the water below, and gently flicked my tail up, watching as a ten foot wave raised from the ocean. I knew this wasn't coincidental. It was a dream, it had to be, it was the exact nightmare I had a few months ago. I saw a small glint of light to my left, and noticed a new bracelet wrapped around my paw. It was a wrapped string, and hanging from the end appeared a water droplet shaped glowing charm. I know what I am. Blessed. With water. Just then, I watched as a lady, no, a mermaid rose from the water. I knew what they were, they frequented my area, always luring foolish kia into their trap. Instead of trying to yell so me, she barely whispered. But I could hear her.
      "It's you, Lily."
