My name is Aod.

rider ;

-My rider:
His name is Masamune Abyss. He is a impulsive, loudmouthed, competitive, arrogant, stubborn, and proud , but he is also brave, persistant, intelligent, clever, loyal. He is a very kind rider who feeds me my jelly rolls anytime I want it! He is always willing to go to where others don't. He is always going to accept a challenge. Even if he knows he'll lose! But he has recently outfitted my leather bracers with knives and a compass.

breedable ;

Well, as long as I find the right gal!

short story ;

Aod was traveling back from his last trip. He had just delivered a letter for a kind man. He decided since the man hadn't just told him what to do and go but he gave him some food Aod decided to get there extra fast. He always kept a map, compass, some knives and some snacks for here and there. He was a really fast messenger and always arrived at the location on time or earlier. He sprinted to his next destiination. He entered the house and looked at the human. He was an old man with wrinkled dark brown skin ,and Aod looked at the man. He looked about 76 but still looked extremly healthy. He had yellow eyes that twinkled and had a certain kindness when he spoke. " Could you please deliver this to my son he lives here in this town." said the man. Aod nodded and sprinted to deliver the letter.
He was traveling through the forest. It was going to be a long trip but the man paid him in advance. He got through the thin forest with the slightest of ease while taking a one hour break. He arrvied at the thicker part of the forest." Only got to go through here and the plains to get there," Aod thought. The sun started to set. "Might as well take a break here," Aod thought. He ate a few jelly rolls and fell into a deep sleep. He woke up to find that a squrriel had taken one of his jelly rolls! He chased the critter until Aod eventually gave up and let him have that one. He got up and started running again. He got halfway through when a tree with a sign read next town 60 miles. Aod kept running untill he got to the town. He arrived at the town. It looked like a ghost town. It had old houses and there was nobody around. He carried on and kept on moving. He found a nice spot with a stream some shade and a nice place to keep his bag. He looked and found a pool of water with some fish by it. "Don't mind if I do."Aod mumbled to himself. He heard a soft growl in the corner and looked and saw a huge angry black bear with shaggy fur. The giant beast pinned Aod on the ground or at least thats what the bear thought.Aod escaped the bears raking claws and started to beat down on the monsters back. He escaped to a to a large shrub and rubbed his body on the plant to hide his scent. The bear listened to find him but failed. Then he tried to smell and see him but failed. The bear walked away and Aod waited for the bear to take all its fish and go away. Aod walked on. He thought" How long did that take?" Aod thought to himself. He walked on even through the night. He looked around and found the edge of the thick part of the forest where it was most noticeably thinned. He felt relaxed now. "No more bears!"He said. He was jogging through but he came across a odd looking tree. It was a rotten tree. He tried to break through it but all he heard was a loud ccclllaaannnggg! noise. The shock of hitting it made his body vibrate. He recovered and thought why was there a metal tree in the forest. He looked around for a switch or something to open it but he couldn't find it. But then he remembered when nothing goes right go left! he looked for some tree or rock that looked out of place and he found it. It was a large rock with all of the trees growing away from it. He took a running start and smashed his hooves against it. It moved sideways and then something clicked. The tree opened up with a bang and he looked inside. There were some old artifacts(old weapons necklaces etc) some gold, silver and bronze. But two things amazed him. A huge chunk of platinum and a book. The platinum was what he looked at first. He tapped and a glowing gem that changed colors appeared out of thin air. He remembered that the gems held magic and power. Then he looked at the platinum. He tapped it and it became something like clay. He tapped it again. It became solid ,nd then he looked at the books cover. It read of how to attract and care for magical beasts and a guide to curses, hexes transfiguration, potions and charms. He closed the log and traveled on. He found the plains easily. He thought it was going to be easy going from now on. He was walking through the hills in the plains but then he didn't notice that there was a steep fall. He put his hoof on that part of the hill and started falling. For what seemed like a eternity he stopped falling. It was a steep climb up but he started the treacherous climb. He climbed up and saw a small village in the midst. He checked his map and compass it seemed like the right village so he started runnig towards it. It must have been farther then he thought because it took him a long time to get there. He arrived at his destination after a long, hard journey he had gotten here. He looked for the house and found it. He checked his pack first and noticed there was a messege in there for him. It read "sorry for the hard journey please give my grandson the book and artifacts and gem and ask him to read the letter to you. You're welcome by the way.
Aod knocked on the door a boy maybe about 14 came to the door. Aod handed the letter to the boy and waited. Aod told him to please read it to him and he did." Please be nice to my grandchild. He might be impulsive, loudmouthed, competitive, arrogant, stubborn, and proud , but he is also brave, persistant, intelligent, clever, loyal , and loves creatures. He's name is Masamune Abyss. He will ant the book and the stone and will study it to death. Please try and be partners with him.Aod gave the gifts to the boy and walked inside.

The Tale of Discovery

The city was decorated in green and gold. Banners proclaimed the arrival of the twins, the Celtic Elkrin fawns that had people flocking to the city. The stone walls rose high on the rolling hills of the Celtlands, carved in all manner of strange patterns. The vast wooden gates were flung wide, welcoming all travelers to come and try for a chance to become a rider to one of the fabulous Elkrin that were here today.

As I walked through the gates I was assaulted by a cloud of scent, a thick floral aroma that seemed to penetrate the air. I wildly looked around, and quickly uncovered the source. Many merchants stood around the gates, arms full of wares or with little tables spread out in front of them.

“Get magical crystals that make Elkrin attracted to you! Right here, a very reasonable price, come get ‘em while their hot!”

“Special sprays that make Elkrin love you! Burn this incense, and those Elkrin won’t be able to resist! Special scent that only I sell! Get it before it’s gone!”

“These stones make a perfect gift to the Celtic twins! They will love you for sure! Genuine emerald, right here, perfect to attract an Elkrin!”

I sighed as I walked past the swarm of venders, trying not to breath too deeply. I didn’t know why these people bought the junk that they were selling. Rough quartz on a leather cord, some noxious flowery mixture, what did they see in it? Oh well, they were none of my concern.

I wandered for a bit, following the flow of people to where I hoped the Elkrin would be. A crowd of people were compressed around two stone structures, a couple of feet off of the ground. I managed to catch a glimpse of a green figure on one of the podium-like buildings and headed to it. I stayed slightly off from the main press of people, biding my time. Some people managed to talk to the Elkrin and wandered away, but more joined the mass in their place.

Around the lunch hour people started to trickle away, off to get food no doubt. Once the crowd got to a manageable size I decided that now was as good of a time as any to try and talk to the Elkrin.

I slipped into the mass, and managed to get buffeted about until I stood directly in front of the Elkrin. He was a brilliant green, with gold markings curling through his fur. My breath caught slightly at the sight of him, and I just stared at his gleaming form for a couple of seconds before I snapped out of it.

“Hello,” I said. “What’s your name? I’m Alya.”

I’m Maedoc, he replied, his voice ringing like a bell in my head. It’s a name from the Celtlands. The little fawn looked like he wanted nothing more than to get up and play, but he forced himself to stay sitting on the platform.

You smell nice, he said out of the blue. All of these other people smell funny, and I don’t like it. But you smell like pine trees and forests and snow. It smells good.

“Do you like to explore than?”

I love to explore! he exclaimed, golden eyes gleaming. And look what I have. Maps! He pulled a map out of the pack on his back and laid it out flat, baring the markings to the sunlight. This is my map of the Celtlands! And I have some more too! I have one with ancient castles marked on it, and I have one of the flickering vales, although my sister says that it’s not very accurate because no one can map the vales. But I have lots of maps! I want to get more, though, and see more places. I want to see what is out of the Celtlands, and go explore faraway lands!”

A grin crept onto my face as the young fawn enthused about traveling. “Well, I do quite a bit of traveling myself, actually. And I have some maps too. Would you like to see them?”

Yes please! What are they maps of? Are they cool? Are they in color?

“Well, I think that they are cool, at least. And some of them are in color. This one is my favorite,” I told him, pulling out a large roll of paper tucked into the side of my bag, where it would be safe. I laid out the map facing him, vivid color jumping out from the page. Little black dots and notations were abundant, and faint dotted lines connected them.

What are those? Maedoc asked, nudging a black dot with his nose.

“Oh, the dots? Well, there is a reason why this map is my favorite. It is a map of my journey, and I put down where I travel on it. That way I can always remember where something important or interesting is.”

Oh, that’s really interesting! he exclaimed. What was this dot?

“That is where my friend Shayon lives. Well, when he’s at home, at least. He has an Elkrin of his own, and we go traveling around together a lot. That one? That’s where I met a rune, Deo. He likes to travel with me too, but he seems to have wandered off. He does that sometimes, so I’m not too worried. That one? Oh, that’s where a really good apple orchard is, and the owners are really nice. They let me pick some apples when I pass through, and they always have the best fruit around.”

Maedoc stared longingly at the map, glancing into the faraway places and foggy borders where no one knew the land.

“Do you know where we are right now?” I asked, pulling a pen and ink bottle out of my bag. The young Elkrin nosed a spot in the Celtlands and I put a little dot on it. “And now I’ll always remember where I met you.” I told him, blowing softly on the ink to dry it.

I got jostled from behind and quickly rolled up the map, tucking it away. “Bye Maedoc,” I told him as I was swept away by the crowd.

I sat on a vacant bench, eating a belated lunch. I had escaped as much as I could from the heavily-perfumed masses, but the scent still lingered in the air. I tried to ignore it as I finished off my grilled sandwich, sweet buns sitting in my knee for dessert. I nearly jumped as I felt a warm nose press against my arm.

Hello Alya, Maedoc said, looking pleased with himself. You were easy to find. You are the only one who doesn’t smell bad.

“Hi Maedoc,” I said with a grin. “I’m sure there are some others who didn’t buy that blasted perfume. I don't know where they are, though. Shouldn’t you be at your podium?”

I don’t want to. It got really boring, and I just wanted to go explore. I don’t care about what all of these other silly people are talking about. I want to run around, and smell the trees! He gazed at the sweet buns, nesteled in their paper wrapping. I grinned and handed him one, watching him devour it with delight. I took a bite of my own, savoring the sweet flavor.

“Well, you probably shouldn’t just leave. Won’t people get worried about you?”

He sighed. Probably. But I do have an idea. Come with me.

I followed the vibrantly green Elkrin, keeping a gentle hand on his flank. We wove our way through the crowd, people trying to talk to Maedoc all the while. He ignored them, however, and continued resolutely onward. He climbed up to the podium, bringing me with him.

EVERYONE, BE QUIET! he shouted into the minds of the masses, his voice clanging like the tolling of a great bell. Now, I have an announcement to make to everyone. I have found my rider, and nothing you say is going to change my decision. Good day to you all, he ended over the roar of the crowd. Now come on, let’s go!

The two of us dashed out, dodging people right and left. “This way,” I called out and we ducked into an alley, the winding path leading us straight to the gate. We slipped out, into the cool, pine-scented air.

It’s so good to be outside, he sighed, looking up at the clear blue sky.

“I do like it out here. But you know the Celtlands better than me, do you want to go somewhere specific?”

No, let’s just go! Wander around, and find stuff!

“Sounds good to me,” I said with a grin. “Which way should we start?”

That way! Maedoc said, gesturing with his nose. That way seems fun.

“That way it is, than,” I told him and we set off, girl and Elkrin. Going who knows where, and followed by points on a map. We would make our own adventure, and have some fun along the way. What more could two travelers want?

Trevedik. It means country dweller in Celtic, and even though the fawn does not originate from the country in my stories, that is where he longs to be, traveling the open roads and rolling lands.

Image
Most definitely, once he's grown c:

Image
Adair is a seventeen year old boy that couldn't be more unhappy with his work. He's stuck as the apprentice to a blacksmith, and although he doesn't mind it, there are many other things he'd rather be doing. He wants to go out in the world and make a name for himself, one that will be passed down in legend to future generations. This boy is average in almost every way; height, school work, social skills. His talents lie where most don't- reading and creating maps, catching the minuscule details that everyone else misses, and picking his way over treacherous land. There's a fierce determination rooted deep in his soul, and it shines through when most needed. He's an honest person, and unlike some riders who view being a rider as owning their elkrin, he sees it more as having a friend. A loyal companion who chose one and only one person to be their rider. It's an honor, nothing less, and he wouldn't dare treat his elkrin in any other way- or anyone's elkrin, for that matter. It's almost as if each searches for as long as they have to for that one person, that one person that is their perfect other half, and won't settle for less, and he admires them for that. They're beautiful creatures, each unique, much like their human counterparts.

Image
Trevedik is a young one, and can be expected to act as so. He's rambunctious, flamboyant, and disobedient. He has troubled sitting still for any extended amount of time, preferring to be doing anything but sitting. His attention spam doesn't help- its about as long as you can expect a squirrels to be. As long as there doesn't come something new, then he may be able to train his attention upon one thing, but the moment there is something new, he's of after that, curiosity and just the nature of young ones driving him to explore every little thing. The young fawn has a bit of trouble with listening, as do most kids. You could tell him over and over not to do something, but if he finds it fun, he'll only continue to do it.
The fawn isn't too fond of sharing, especially not out of his collection of miss matched things. They come from all over- trinkets, papers, pens- and are of all sorts. He snatches just about anything he can get away with, although he has learned not to take something that is of value, or that will get him in trouble for taking. That he has learned his lesson on. He acquires this things on a daily basis as he explores the town, and exploring, to this young one, isn't just sticking his nose into a locked room to see what was in it. Trevedik has the soul of an adventurer, and that's that. It's what drives him to do most things. He gets his nose stuck in everything, in everyone's business. He just can't help it, and the more he's told to stay out of somewhere, the more he wants to get in it. He dreams of growing up to be able to travel freely, all over the land, with a faithful rider with a spirit as inquisitive as his.

Image
Besides collecting almost anything he can get manage to get back to his room, The fawn has a it of trouble controlling his own tail. It's a bit too long, a bit too heavy, and when he's running... Well, it just doesn't want to move the way he wants it to. It knocks things down, its peoples, breaks things... It frustrates the fawn, so you'll often see him with it looped over his neck instead of trailing behind him.

Image
Profitable Adventures
The little elkrin's eyes opened slowly, never having been one to wake quickly. The moment the fawn's eyes were open and wide though, he was staggering to his feet, wobbling from such spindly things and a lack of experience. This small problem hadn't done a thing to stop him yet however, and even so young, the small stag had gotten himself quite the reputation for causing much trouble, getting everywhere and in everything. Still, Trevedik hadn't the slightest idea of the rap he'd gotten himself already.

Today was ripe for adventure, and Trevedik's ears perked, filled with excitement as he stretched.

After a nice breakfast and his morning task of seeking out people who he knew would give him affection, there was still plenty of time left before dinner (because who would miss dinner, even for adventure?) and Trevedik very excited to find his way out into the streets with no supervision. It was always so exciting out there in the hustle and bustle of the day, even though they would scold him when he got home. It's dangerous! They said, but Trevedik had to disagree. It was exciting! Even though it was loud, it was much more exciting than the dull (although safe) inside that his sister was so often content with.

Trevedik poked his head around a door that led outside, glancing behind him to make sure no one was going to catch him. With a mischievous grin, the elkrin slipped out, bounding quickly down the street. It was harder than it looked with a tail though. After all, the fawn still hadn't quite figured out how to keep it out of the way, which he often grew frustrated with. It never moved the right way! It knocked things over and the stags he’d seen held theirs so proudly, elegantly in comparison, where his just made him seem clumsy...

Most people reached out for him, and Trevedik didn't mind. On the contrary, he loved it, leaning into their hands. He'd be gone a few seconds later though, chasing after something new. Trevedik planned to investigate it all, attention lasting only as long as it took to figure out what something was.

Finally though, Trevedik's attention was caught and the fawn stopped dead when a glint from bag reached his eyes. It promised something nice, and the fawn bounded forward with enthusiasm, eyes bright and fixed upon the glint that teased him. Trevedik's legs carried him forward quickly, albeit clumsily, through the streets, tail whipping behind him. This time, he was too absorbed in other things to really care, even though he probably knocked down more than a few things.

Soon enough, the fawn could no longer spot the person shouldering the bag, and he stopped dead, looking around in confusion. The sound of voices drew the inquisitive young one into a building that smelled of fire and was filled with smoke, but there was that bag, beckoning him. The elkrin snuck forward with his neck outstretched, his nose nudging and rooting around in the bag. He pushed himself onto his hind legs, balancing his front against the chair and spilling the things inside the bag out onto the table. It consisted of strange things- something that had a dial in it that turned and pointed always in one direction when it was moved, pencils, and paper with strange lines crossing over each other to form a spider web like drawing. He found what he had been entranced by however- a small crystal that had reflected the light, but that went unnoticed as he was more interested in the bag. He slid his head under the straps, letting it fall to his shoulders before dropping to the ground. He fancied it made him look like quite the traveler even though it dragged on the ground.

"Where do you think you're off with that?" a gruff voice asked behind him, and Trevedik's head immediately went down, tail drooping as he turned around. The man was large and rather hairy, with a long curly beard, and it wasn't a very... friendly looking man. Sure that he was to be scolded, Trevedik slunk forward and let the bag slide forward, off his neck. He couldn't bring himself to look up at the man, more than a little ashamed. He was positive the man was going to yell at him, but instead, the man knelt next to him, reaching out to pat him. "You're quite the fine adventuring youngun' aren't ya?" he asked, and Trevedik looked up slowly, studying this man. "Why don't you come here," he said, standing and moving deeper into the building. Trevedik was scared to follow, but he did, stepping slowly. He was brought into a back room, but the fawn paused and shifted uneasily at the entrance, curious about what was going on. The man’s bulk prevented him from sneaking a peek inside though.

When he turned around, he was holding a bag of some sort, making the elkrin tip his head to the side, studying it. "Come on in, you're in no trouble," he said, bending down and setting the thing he had taken down over the fawn's back. Trevedik jumped and craned his head to see what in the world it was, and his eyes widened to see an almost perfectly fitting bag upon his back, and it made him more than just overjoyed. Then the man was setting out little leather things, sitting back on his heels. "For your legs, so you don't harm yourself on the adventures you end up on," he said, a glint of humor in his eyes. He slid them onto the fawn's leg, and Trevedik was practically bouncing in excitement, eyes bright. The man laughed heartily, patting his head once more. "Now off ya' go," he said, gesturing for him to be off. "Make sure you come back often to show me what ya collected."

Trevedik couldn't be happier to be off, scrambling to be out of there as quickly as possible and show off his new pack, and begin to fill it with knickknacks and everything else he could find, and to find his first true adventure. The enthusiasm in which the fawn was off gave the man all the payment he needed, and besides, he was sure the fawn would be back.

    A Rider, at Long Last

For months past, a certain young elkrin had been visiting the blacksmiths forge every other day at least, finding shiny metal things to bring back to his sister or just to carry around in his pack. Ever since he'd acquired that pack he hadn't taken it off, and he also seemed to think that his place was in the hot and stuffy back room of the blacksmiths. Adair was nothing but the apprentice to the large, burly man with a curly beard, although he aspired to go other places, to explore the world and make his own way in the world, perhaps even make a name for himself. Here, he'd be nothing more than 'that boy'.

Adair had not witnessed the first time the special young elkrin had come into the shop, but he had heard of it. The man that ran this place was a great storyteller and he had told Adair of the time he had been given the honor to grace the young stag with his pack and leather bands. Adair was touched by the story, and he longed to become a rider above all else, but he doubted that, with his coal stained hands and clothes due to his work.

And so, the young boy made himself scarce every time the elkrin stepped inside the blacksmith shop. He found work he could do, but when he looked up, he'd always see the young stag looking at him, which made the boy quickly turn away.

Over time, the young one would step closer and closer than he had been brave enough to before, and went so far as to take food that that Adair offered him from his hand, which he seemed to take eagerly. Every day he'd come for his sweet, and even though Adair had to admit the fawn was spoiled, he enjoyed giving him a treat when he came to visit. The first time he supposed the elkrin really took interest in him was when he found the boy in one of the rooms trying on boots and different packs. Adair planned on leaving, and soon. He didn't want to become a blacksmith- he wanted to explore! To see the world and explore everything rumored. The fawn had been searching for his treat giver, and found him trying on exploring things, and then and there his interest was piqued. The only thing the fawn wanted more than treats was to go out and explore things.

"Come on, out of here, neither of us are supposed to be back here," Adair said quickly, slipping off the boots and reaching out with a sweet in hand to give to the fawn, walking out with the young one brushing against his leg. Secretly, it sent flutters through his chest, making him struggle to hold back a smile.

Adair led the fawn, whose name he had learned from his teacher was Trevedik, out to the front of the shop, before sitting down in one of the chairs. "You want to know what I was doing?" Adair asked the elkrin, even though he knew he would not receive an answer. The elkrin sat back, looking up at him, and Adair fancied that he did want to know. "I'm going to go on an adventure." Now that was definitely understood, and the fawn scrambled to his feet, pushing his head against the boy's hand with enthusiasm, tugging as his shirt to hurry him along.

Adair chuckled, pushing the fawn gently away. "You can't come, you've got to stay here and grow up, choose your rider- everything you elkrins do," he said almost wistfully, because really, there wouldn't have been anything better than having the company of an elkrin with him on his journeys. This however, did not satisfy the young stag, and he only snorted at the boy. Adair stood when he heard voices in the front of the shop, sighing softly. "Tomorrow night, I'm going, so no more treats from me every day- I'm sure you'll still get plenty though." It pained the boy to say it, but he had to go. The fawn though, he still looked determined and seemed to be up to no good at all.

The fawn paused for only a moment before he turned abruptly, making his way out the door, leaving Adair sighing in indecision. It wasn't long before he turned and went back to work though.

Adair stood looking back at the town, a good pair of boots on his feet, a map in hand, and a heavy back pack shouldered. When he had told his mother though, she wasn’t pleased one bit, worried that without a travel companion, he’d get lost. He managed to ease her worries though with the promise of returning eventually. He was about to turn away when the clatter of hooves reached his ears, and the boy turned with a frown, wondering what that might be. What he saw made him sigh and grin simultaneously, for Trevedik was running forward, nearly tripping on his own legs, and the fawn skidded to a halt in front of him, stopping himself completely by running into the boy's legs.

The fawn skidded to a halt in front of Adair with bright eyes, seeming to be grinning up at him. "You're not supposed to be here!" Adair exclaimed, but there was an amused gleam to his eye, one that said he would not make the fawn go back. The pack on the young stag's back was filled with papers; most he had collected told of legends that may or may not be true, and even though the fawn couldn't read, he knew that if given to an adventurer like himself, they could lead to amazing journeys. Adair bent down, patting the fawn's head, holding out a sweet for him, of which he had plenty and wouldn't be running out anytime soon. "Ready to go?" he asked, and upon receiving a nod, or at least an enthusiastic toss of the head, he stood and started off down the road, a new lightness to his step and his heart. What was better than having a partner of any kind to set off with? And what was better than being chosen by a beautiful, strong creature that had not been seen by many for some years. Nothing, that's what.

Sorry this is last minute, but could we have a small extension? Just an hour or so, I'm not quite finished with my story, and would really appreciate it. C:
