hmmm...really, at the beginning, reika's mother and father leave the camp not planning to be gone awhile, a few days or so maybe, possibly taking their unhatched eggs with them. later, a cat is fying over and sees something glimmering, flies down, and finds an egg in the middle of a clearing with the marks of battle everywhere, and also discovers claw marksbigger than a marble cat. maybe they went hunting together, the mother gave birth, and later they and their eggs but one were killed by an unknown source?
