BASIC DESCRIPTION.
jean-michel is a young, energetic dude in a small, cramp town. his family had moved all the way from bord
eaux, france to america after his father had sought out a nice house and job.. upset that they were leaving
their former home behind, jean-michel tried to convince his family to stay, but alas, he had no luck -- he h
ad to leave his former life behind, forcing him to adapt in this new place.. he, jean-michel, was naturally a
loner by heart -- meaning that making new friends was rather difficult for them since he didn't open up too
often. every day after school, he would either hide in his room or go out into the bland town and try to adj
ust to its lifestyle. it was so bleak and dreary, that town -- lacking color and cheeriness, even its people we
re dull and lifeless monsters in the form of people.

after coming to a realization, jean-michel would then promise to make his new home better, for him and th
e people that resided within it. every night, he'd sneak out with his buckets of paint, spray cans and whatno
t, and paint on the walls of the town's buildings. jean-michel preferred to keep around the side of the alley-
ways, so that he wouldn't get caught or noticed before his paintings were completed.. it was a risky task, ev
en if his works were barely noticeable, it was rather difficult trying to paint the picture itself -- he'd have to
climb up and down when he decided to create larger works.. paint would even spill and jean-michel would h
ave to go get more in order to continue.. despite the hard work, jean-michel managed and created quite a l
ot of pieces, and he wasn't planning on stopping until the town was no longer be colorless.
( he needs to be more fleshed out whoops )

- jean-michel allaire is based off an actual real life artist who did graffiti art.
- his grey's anatomy book was given to him as a gift from his art teacher from france.
- jean-michel, although mediocre, is practicing guitar. he plays on a round-shoulder dreadnought.
- he watches the derby whenever it comes on, its like a tradition for himself.
- he usually paints surreal looking depictions of people, he really enjoys paints monsters as well.
- his parents actually disapprove of him doing art, so he does it behind their back of course.

➳ adrian is american-singaporean, and while
his first language is english, he's capable of
speaking some chinese, & understands a little
hainanese due to it being his mum's dialect.

➳ he moved to los angeles w his mum & sister
after his parents' divorce. however, thankfully
enough, they're still on friendly terms with
one another. he and his family usually visit his
relatives in singapore when chinese new year
and xmas come around, but generally try to
make time during the holidays to fly back and
see how everyone's getting along.

➳ adrian is tall, but kinda lanky, so he's always
kind of... awkward. cue tons of awkward
shuffling, limb-floundering, and many, many
"uHhhhHHhhHhHHhh"s as adrian flails his way
through big-boy-in-the-big-city life.

he's not afraid to keyboard smash all over you

➳ being an infp and neutral good individual,
adrian does whatever he can to help others
out. he's caring, sensitive, & a great listener.
he'll always make sure whoever he's talking
to is comfortable & at ease, and if need be,
he'll whip up a mug of hot coffee for them,
and lend them his shoulder to cry on.

➳ tends to follow the rules, but may bend
them at times if it helps others. he's a bit of
a coward, though, so he tries not to. however,
he hates seeing others being mistreated or
discriminated against, so he'll do everything
in his capacity to help them out. being a part
of the minority himself─half-asian, as well
as gay, he knows what it feels like not to
fit in.

➳ he's also a ravenclaw, as he's genuinely
really bright, but can be a bit of a smart-arse
at times; a bit loud and tending to insert
himself into conversations when he may not
be wanted around. he's also a bit standoffish
to people who haven't left a good impression
on him at first, but he tends to warm up
after a while.

holds dear, primarily his mum, sister, and his
friends. especially his mum, who he will Not

when he reaches the end of his tether, but it's
usually because he's been repressing his

➳ hanging around the neighbourhood thrift-shop; even if he doesn't buy anything in the end, adrian
still enjoys admiring the vintage clothing & memorabilia, & gazing wistfully at articles of clothing he could
revamp if he'd had the cash. he's accumulated quite an admirable collection of clothing & collectibles
from vintage stores and flea markets he's done hauls at, such as the rose bowl flea market. he's actually
got a youtube channel where he used to post vlogs he's recorded with his buds while thrifting, but he's on
a bit of a hiatus at the moment while he gets his life together. you can bet he's definitely subscribed to
bestdressed on youtube.

➳ modelling, actually─mainly for clothes he's thrifted and wants to give a new life to; since he's fresh
out of uni, he's kind of tight on cash, so it helps tons. modelling for his own store also gives him a huge
boost of confidence and helps him build up his self-esteem. generally, looking good in pictures gives him
tons of feel-good vibes, so he spends a lot of time taking aesthetically-pleasing pics for his insta.

➳ mucking around with his buds; adrian feels like he hasn't been able to hang out with his friends
as much since they'd mostly all gotten jobs after uni, so he appreciates being able to hang out with them
even in the most mundane of places. it's lonely to be drifting aimlessly without a goal in mind after uni,
after all. so be it at the coffeeshop he works at with with a few steaming mugs of chai latte, frappes, &
white bean mochas; or at the nearby macdonalds, at a table laden with fries after watching a newly-
released marvel movie and engaging in hot debate about which chris is most attractive; or at the skate-
park near his house though none of them know how to skate─adrian loves being able to hang out with
his friends and catching up with them.

➳ taking aesthetic pics with the gang; adrian likes to have impromptu photoshoots with his friends
at places they find have a pretty tumblr-esque vibe─with a nice setting, good lighting and generally rad
atmosphere. they've received many an odd look from passers-by, likely wondering why this oddball group
of millennials are, like, posing in front of neon signs at a laundromat or in the middle of the street in front
of the cars right before the light turns green.

➳ dabbling around with makeup; he can't claim to be a professional, but it's plenty fun & makes him
feel good about himself. given the stigma against males who use makeup, it's pretty fun to go out for
work all decked up, and be able to look smugly at all the conservatives who throw him dirty looks but
can't do anything about it. he has a good laugh about it after with his coworkers. he'd also give anything
for @fentybeauty to put him on their PR list.

➳ interacting with animals; he seems to have a bit of an affinity with them, because it's so much
easier to get along with them as compared to other people. people relationships are overly complicated.
it's why he enjoys volunteering at the shelter so much; because he gets to help out the people working
there as well as the animals who don't have homes of their own. adrian always feels bad whenever he
has to leave, so he tries to drop by whenever he can.

➳ nicki minaj; a kween.

➳ pop music from the 2000s-2010s; adrian would say that out of all the music genres, he usually
listens to pop一and mainly the hits from the 2000s to 2010s. after all, he was of the myspace generation.
he does have several exceptions though, some of which are chinese songs he's grown fond of due to his
mum's influence.

➳ keeping a bullet journal; adrian started keeping a bullet journal mid-uni by the influence of
several friends who did the same. of course, it was stressful at the beginning, trying to maintain a
constant theme, but he gradually stopped worrying so much and let his creativity guide him. his
aren't anything as remarkable as those on studyblrs or studygrams you'll find, but he finds the process
of personalising the journals to fit his aesthetic both satisfying and helpful in tracking his days. it also
helps him look forward to keeping on task and maintaining the organisation of his schedule.

➳ when his mum sings c-pop and cantopop songs around the house; they're not always familiar to
him, and he doesn't always immediately recognise their meaning or significance, but on the occasions he
does, it's a pleasant reminder of his roots. it's always like a secret that only he shares with his family,
listening to his mum hum the tunes to songs he can't quite remember, but which give him a sense of
nostalgia regardless. he's got several chinese songs that he's grown quite fond of himself.

➳ his mum's kopi; adrian knows how to make coffee, being a barista and all, and he isn't half-bad
at it. however, he really can't match up to his mum's coffee. it definitely isn't as elaborate as the
western brew, but the hainanese sure know how to make it, because adrian's never been able to
replicate it at all. compared to the arabica beans most premium brews are made of, his mum's kopi
is made of robusta beans, and the unique aroma & flavour literally can't be beat. whenever adrian wants
a comfort drink, he turns to his mum to make him a pot of kopi gau peng─thick coffee with
condensed milk, and ice.

➳ the traditional foods he gets to eat whenever he returns to singapore, especially kaya toast,
laksa, and hainanese chicken rice; adrian doesn't get to eat them often, and the singaporean foods they
have in america just aren't the same. it always feels amazing to be biting down into a crispy, buttery
slice of kaya toast dipped in half-boiled egg yolk, tasting the homely, tangy-spiciness of laksa on his
tongue, or savouring the literal eighth world wonder that is hainanese chicken rice cooked in chicken
broth. adrian knows he can't call himself fully singaporean, what with being raised in america and all,
but the local cuisine is definitely a part of his roots that he wish he could take to america with him,
this authentic and tangible part of his culture.

➳ being wrapped up under the covers right before it rains, when it's all cold and gloomy, but not
quite storming yet; adrian doesn't really like the rain, to be honest, but he does love being bundled up in
the warmth of his blankets and being able to watch the rain fall against the window rhythmically, while
sipping from a thermos of coffee while watching brooklyn-nine-nine on netflix.

dislikes
➳ bigots, or generally those who are prejudiced towards others; adrian wouldn't consider himself
a social justice warrior, primarily because he finds most of their online presence annoying, but he does
feel a great indignance for how people are treated unequally simply because of others' racist, sexist or
homophobic views. he takes personal offence when anyone is insulted for an aspect of themselves that
they can't change, and it's why, despite his anxiety, he'll always come to the defence of others who need
someone to stand up for them.

➳ having to do exercise, especially running; adrian's pretty lazy, and his stamina's quite low due to his
typical inactivity. he's trying to change it, but he genuinely hates the uncomfortable burn in his legs when
his friends push him to go exercising with them, and runs out of breath easily, so he much prefers to stick
to lazing around on his couch and playing overwatch.

➳ harsh criticism, especially directed towards something he's proud of; adrian's feelings get easily
hurt due to his low morale, and while he appreciates constructive criticism, having his errors pointed out
to him glaringly and without some level of compliments to other aspects he's done well in, makes him feel
bad about himself, and he tends to wallow in self-pity for a while after that.

➳ most fruit jams, except for strawberry, which he'll only eat with butter and pastries; he has nothing
against fruits, but the texture of fruit jams is just so weird. he dislikes the gloppy consistency, and it
reminds him of slime. he does like strawberry jam though, oddly enough, despite not having a particular
preference for strawberries.

➳ overly loud surroundings; having too many noises and distractions all around him makes adrian
feel anxious, and when the stimuli around him get too much, he tends to panic and sometimes, dissociate
from his surroundings. it's partly a result of his social anxiety, and it does affect him to some extent bc
it's not something he can change about himself. he tries to stick to easily-manageable situations and going
to places that aren't very chaotic, and his friends do try their best to usher him out of situations he might
be uncomfortable in, to keep him feeling at ease.

➳ when his belongings are taken without permission, or made disorganised; he dislikes it that some
of his friends don't ask before borrowing his things, and he knows it might be tedious at times, but he
appreciates knowing & keeping track of where everything is, to save him the trouble of hunting them
down only to find someone's borrowed them. adrian also doesn't appreciate when others make a mess of
his personal items, especially of his desk. it may be messy, and despite the saying, "a place for everything
and everything in its place", his things are there for A Reason, so there is Absolutely No Need for them to
be adjusted elsewhere.

➳ that one employee at that walgreens who kicked him out for vlogging, early on in his thrifting
days; it was a horrible experience for him─firstly, because of the numerous dirty look they'd thrown him
and their loud threats to call security and have him escorted out despite him not having done anything
wrong. secondly, because of the fact that he was literally this close to breaking down because of the sheer
amount of discomfort he'd felt at having people in the vicinity turn to stare at him, & the panic he was
feeling at potentially getting into trouble with the management. needless to say, adrian didn't pay that
walgreens a visit again.

➳ low-cut jeans; they're simply uncomfortable.

➳ when his relatives talk down to him or dismiss him for his job & hobbies or his sexuality too;
not all of adrian's family knows what he works as, and even less know of his hobbies or sexuality, due
to him living all the way in los angeles. of course, among the few that do, some of them treat him with
disdain for willingly working as a barista instead of being in a high-paying job, and constantly pressure
him by asking him when he'll get a good job instead of wasting his life. he tries not to reveal anything
to his nosier, more loud-mouthed relatives, but sometimes they find out anyway, and a few of his aunts
and uncles treat him with scorn when they realise he enjoys modelling and makeup, or discover his
sexuality. he tries not to take notice of their disbelief and disdain, but the continuous prying into his
personal life and invasive questions of when he'll get a girlfriend does get to him sometimes.

➳ rude customers; it wasn't unusual for people to come in and, upon reaching their turn, ask for the
most complicated orders, before getting mad and literally flipping if they weren't served on time or if
their order had gotten mixed up. there'd be some customers that would talk on their phones and refuse
to acknowledge the barista until their call was over, and throw literal anger fits if they were interrupted
or had their queue skipped. many a time, they'd call the baristas derogatory names to aggravate them,
before storming out. of course, adrian isn't really surprised by them anymore, but the fact that they can't
seem to understand how to be decent and respectful really irks him. he doesn't understand the need to
treat the baristas, who were serving them, as well as hundreds of other customers one after the other,
badly.

➳ being late, be it to work or anything else; adrian hates to cause inconvenience to others, and takes
arriving on time to work and gatherings early so he doesn't trouble anyone. it's one of the reasons traffic
jams frustrate him to no end, because they're always so troublesome and unpredictable, and nearly always
are caused by some reckless idiot.

➳ people who give off negative vibes─basically, wet blankets and mood-dampeners; adrian worries
enough for two people sometimes, so others who intentionally put him or themselves down to make him
feel worse, or who insist on the negative outcomes cause him tons of anxiety and mental pressure. he's
much better off surrounding himself with his friends and family who are always supportive of him, and
keep him feeling optimistic for the future.

➳ forgetting his umbrella and getting caught in the rain, and even more so if his socks get wet; adrian
simply dislikes getting his feet wet, and having his dry, comfy clothes get absolutely drenched in a sudden
downpour. occasionally it starts pouring when he's left his umbrella at home in a rush, and usually, as the
saying goes in chinese, he'll end up like a 落汤鸡─a chicken who's fallen into water and gotten completely
soaked from head to toe. it's super uncomfortable, and dripping water everywhere really isn't the best
way to start the day.

*chews cheek* now, I don’t normally l i k e furries in general since they creeep me on on the molecular level, but this is beautifuly colored, has amazing shades that make it very pleasant on the eyes and a very vivid character shape and expression. Dope job 👌
