Ah darn! I won't have enough time to finish this ;3;

personality; Marietta is, at first glance, quite normal. She doesn't look out of the ordinary, she doesn't act out of the ordinary, and she doesn't do anything to attract attention to herself. However, if you try to interact with her, you will come to notice a few things about her that are quite peculiar. First, she is quiet… too quiet. She ignores most direct conversations completely and when she does speak, her words are few and often ominous in nature. Second is her eyes; they hold a gleam one might consider sinister. And finally, her lips, which are almost always curved up slightly in a small smirk. She’s a cunning, manipulative, working behind-the-scenes viscet who prides herself in making things happen. She isn’t even an evil viscet… lots of the things she does are considered good, like getting two viscets to go out on a date, but it isn’t beneath her to cause misfortune. She is a very complex and mysterious gal, and you can be sure that if you have your eye on her, she most certainly has her eyes on you, too.

The Nature of Zyweni

    Gentle, Fish, Chocolate, Trumpet
    WIP - Notes for Now

Zyweni, the Turtle Racer

A lone viscling was stretched on her belly atop a bed of grass and soft earth in a clearing so small it was scarcely large enough for her. Sunlight streamed down from between the gaps in the palm branches above her, dappling her tricolor fur with quaint patches. Her tail and hind legs were sprawled idly behind her, while she rested on her elbows, using both forepaws to prop up her head. She stared in fascination at the tiny creature before her, eyes wide with wonder.
The unassuming reptile basked atop a modest stone. It was well aware of the unexpected company it had attained, and kept its head and limbs tucked safely inside its shell. If the viscet held still and kept silent for long enough, the turtle would sometimes allow its head to emerge into the open to gaze sleepily around the clearing, no doubt curious as to the happenings of the day, aside from the audience it had attracted, of course.

For young Zyweni, time disappeared, fading into nothingness the longer she remained in the turtle's presence. As she kept her patient vigil, her mind wandered into the territory of daydreams. Her tribe was one to live in harmony with other species, but keeping another creature in one's house was unheard of. As appealing as the idea of attempting this revolutionary lifestyle was, Zyweni was presented with two problems. Firstly, she needed to learn as much as she could about turtles. If she was to care for one, she needed to do it right. Otherwise, this creature who was completely dependent on her would meet a very unfortunate end. Zyweni admired turtles far too much to allow that to happen.
Secondly, she needed to justify keeping a turtle in her house at all. "I like them" was not going to be a good enough answer to all the questions her tribemates would have. The turtle needed a concrete purpose that others could understand why keeping as a turtle as a pet was a positive thing that should be allowed to continue.
The first issue was easy enough to solve. All Zyweni needed to do was observe turtles long enough to learn what they ate and the type of environment they liked to live in. That was why she was here in the first place. Enjoying the turtle's company was nice, but today, Zyweni was here for business purposes. She stayed until the turtle seemed to have finished warming up and crawled down from the stone, heading towards the nearby pond that dozens of turtles called home.

Another few weeks of observation was all Zyweni needed to learn what a turtle would need from her, and as she set about making preparations for her future friend, she had plenty of time to contemplate her second challenge. This turtle needed a purpose, preferably one that did not involve eating it. At first, she came up empty, but there was plenty of time to consider her conundrum while she dug out a big hole next to her hut. She continued to ponder while creating a short wall of stacked rocks to contain her turtle, and mulled it over still as she hauled several gallons of water back and forth until she had filled the hole and created a pond. Still, none of the digging, building, or hauling inspired any genius ways a turtle could be practical for everyday life. What she did know was that she needed to think of an idea quickly. Some of the other tribe members were beginning to talk. It was not negative attention, quite yet, since the pond was rather pretty, but they did find it odd. Fortunately, her parents thought this type of construction was appropriate play for a viscling and since the pond looked nice, they did not bother her.

Eventually, Zyweni could wait no longer for an idea to come to her. The excitement was too much! That morning, when she knew the turtles would be warming up in the sunlight, she set off towards the pond. An hour later, she returned with a single, mid-sized turtle held carefully in one paw while she hobbling along on her three free ones. No one seemed to notice until she had made it all the way to her handmade pond, but just as she was setting her turtle down in its new home, she heard a voice.
    "Um... What are you doing...?"
Zyweni looked up to see a skeptical viscling staring at her with forelimbs crossed in front of her chest.
"Oh. Hi, Kabrit." Zyweni greeted her acquaintance. "I'm uh... So, you see..."
Kabrit raised an eyebrow, still waiting for an explanation. Behind her, another trio of giggling visclings darted down the dirt path. It looked like they were having...
    "A race!"
    "What?", Kabrit asked.
"Uh, yeah! So, you haven't heard of turtle racing? It's awesome! You uh... You get a turtle, and then you race it!"
On the spot, Zyweni began weaving a fantasy, and Kabrit seemed interested.
"Ok, but aren't turtles kinda slow?"
"No, you don't race against a turtle. The turtles race each other."
    "Oooooh."
    Kabrit thought for a moment.
"What do you get if your turtle wins?"
Zyweni hesitated, glancing around her for ideas. Memories of one of her favorite games gave her the idea she was searching for.
"The winner gets to make the loser to a dare." she responded confidently.

Kabrit and Zyweni continued chatting about this new "turtle racing" scheme. By the end, their conversation had turned to a volley of questions as Kabrit sought to learn how to keep her own turtle so that she could race hers against Zyweni's. In another few weeks, tiny ponds dotted the grass around every hut that housed a viscling. During the day, they could be heard shouting and cheering for their beloved pets to bring home a victory. Zyweni's quick thinking had not only helped her add a turtle to her life, but had started a trend of tribewide turtle appreciation.

I picked up judging this from Mint Chip while I had a bit of time to help out.

First of all, of the two qualifying form there was some pretty impressive storytelling! I loved both forms nearly in equal measure <33
And I would like to give out a x1 hm stub to ~Prophecy~! I loved the whole form, but that last line about the anger management course absolutely killed me XD

Honestly it was hard to choose between you two, but in the end I settled on The Dragon Collector! Congratulations!
I feel like I was able to get a real sense of who the character really is just from what was on your form, and I feel it came together rather well. The story portrayed her exactly as I would have imagined after reading the personality section <333

Mint will update the first post as soon as she can <33
