A strong and silent shine, Akisa is not much for conversation. He prefers to get things done quick and get out even quicker. Avoiding contact as much as he can, Akisa finds comfort in his solitude and a tends to even shy away before anything can force him into such situation. Or he simply pretends as if it doesn't exist and ignores the problem until it goes away. Many would find him to appear cold-hearted and mean but he simply just wishes not to be bothered. Though, that can't really happen all the time for him. He has a habit of jumping into situations when they aren't truly his problem. Helping others is a second nature he's grown into and it's quite troublesome when his paws move before his brain can stop it. He often curses himself for having a good heart in such a cruel world, since it only brings more trouble. He's a sweet-hearted shine, but you can't be good to everyone... But he does enjoy the feeling of genuine companionship, though for him, it's quite hard to come by when you live alone and in seclusion. But you grow use to it over time and soon, you just don't care anymore. Not on the surface at least..

Why is their Charm separated from their Accessory?

As a young shine, Akisa wasn't at all as mature as he becomes. He was considered a rebel, wild and uncontrollable. He didn't intend to be as bad as he was- he just enjoyed having fun. But compared to his strict village with rules and expectations of everyone- Akisa wasn't alright. The young shine grew up with his mother in a hidden village in the thick forest, unseen by those they didn't want to be seen by. Everything they did was for the safety and well being of every shine living within it. They had traditions that were executed without a fault and passed out from generations of those who lived within the tribe. But Akisa always found a way to do things his way. Be it, hunting, fishing, eating, his way always seemed to be uncultured in the eyes of the elders. But his mother, a one of the leaders of the tribes was always there to keep them from punishing him too hard. She was his only friend in truth. The other shines his age choose to avoid him for he was a was too wild and strange. Adults would avoid him as well, whispering that his savagery came from his father who was an outsider to the tribe. But his mother- despite all the ridicule- always helped him smile in face of that. Though- his mom could not help him in everything, and his final straw was thrown when he interrupted a sacred ceremony due to being hungry. He had always been one to think with his stomach and those where one of those moments. For the ceremony, the tribe was required to stay silent as to not scare the ancient spirits they worshiped as they walked in their world and bestowed their village with their luck an protection. But Akisa interrupted and announced his hunger, wadding through the sacred waters as he left the ceremonial area to look for food. And that left the tribe with bad luck and tragedy and with only one Starshine to blame. Akisa was exiled despite the pleas and cries of his mother. And since he had been exiled, Akisa never was able to be apart of the sacred tradition that blessed young shines with their charms. The tradition was believed to place a special spirit, personal for each Starshine to protect them from harm. But Akisa never got the privilege. And to this day, he looks back at his childish antics in both scorn and regret. But not for him- instead, for his mother. He'd miss her greatly.

What is with their Charm?

It had been a month after the young Starshine was cast out his crimes. Alone and afraid, Akisa roamed the outskirts of the place he once called home, hoping that someone would come out and tell him that the joke was over, or he was no longer in exile. But that day never came. And the longer he paced around the large hidden village, the farther his heart fell in despair. In these days, he had managed to make shelter in a cave in the side of a small rocky hill near the village, giving him both a nostalgic and agonizing view. On this particular night, he once again found himself looking down upon them. He longed to be with them, even as they were settling in for the night. He took these tranquil ties for granted back then and he regretted it so much now. His mind drifted to his mother, the person who was torn seeing him cast out. She wanted to go with him but he somehow managed to convince her to stay. Oh how he wished he could see her. Wishful thinking of course.. He wasn't sure how long had passed as he watched the village, but eventually came a sudden streak of light across the sky. He first thought of the shooting stars he'd be lucky to catch glimpses of he waited patiently enough. But as he stared longer he say the star was falling... towards him! He yelped and ran into his cave, cowering in the back until he heard a hard impact into the hillside, making it tremble. When everything was still, Akisa hesitantly ventured out of his cave and looked around. Below, a medium sized crater had been made into the hill. In the center, a chunk of rock sat, smoking in the remains of it's fiery descent from above. Intrigued, Akisa approached the rock, sniffing and poking it with a stick. Nothing seemed to happen. -Well that was anti-climatic...- He thought to himself, pouting a little as he was hoping something to to do in this lonely life of his. He decided to leave the fallen star be but, the longer he sat awake in his cave, the more the star filled his mind. He tried to push it aside but he just could not. Before he knew it, he had pushed the space rock into his cave for keeping. Well- until his mind finally left him alone about it. He decide to sleep on it and sleep he did. His dreams were dark this time around, not that he minded. But soon he was met by a pair of piercing red eyes staring at him. He felt uneasy.. but also attracted to the two eyes gazing at him. They didn't blink, the beholder said nothing either. They just stayed there- gazing upon Akisa as if gazing right through him. It was almost like they were waiting for him to do something- and something he did. Akisa approached the to eyes slowly, caution with every step in the dark room of his dream. Soon he was only inches away from the two shimmering pools of red. He gazed at them a bit long before reaching out to touch them. A surge of light flashed suddenly as soon as his paw made contact forcibly pulling Akisa from his dream and awake in the shelter of his now sunlit cave. Everything was normal- but Akisa could still clearly see and feel those eyes gazing at him. He felt something in his paws though. When he looked at them- he found charms of a dull gray transparent color. There were two of them and despite being so clear- they shimmered. He held them up and gazed through their transparent lens and gasped at what he saw. The lens-like charms seemed to enhance his sight heavily. He could see through the cave walls. He could see farther and clearer than he's ever could. He could even see every detail of the forest despite it being miles away. He even saw things that- without the charms he wouldn't believe existed. Like a new world And every time he put the lens up to his eyes- they change to the same red color of his irises, much like the eyes boring at him in the strange dream. In his moment of awe- he spotted the fallen star's rock in his cave. It was sizzling as if it was still burning from the fall. It also shimmered like the charms he held. When he took a closer look, he saw two holes had been almost.. burned out of the rock. It was a familiar shape. It only took him a second for him to realize that these lens charms came from the star. He began to wonder why he, of all shines, was the one to find something so rare. But he was quite happy to have such a blessing in disguise. And he would cherish it.

What's with the mask?

Akisa continued to gaze through the two charms, finding a small bit of joy in this new world in his eyes. It kept the lonely shine entertained. The beauty of it all was something he could enjoy for days on end. Which he did, going out every now and then to see what was hiding in a world unseen to others. On what was the third day of Akisa's discovery, he was met with another dream. Those same eyes from before gazing at him once again. But he didn't fear them as he did before though there was still caution. He approached them like he had before- but just as he reached to touch them, the ground beneath him began to shake and rumble. The sounds of thunder crashed over head, lightening announcing their arrival with dangerous bolts of light. He was suddenly transported to the forest he had hunted in before his exile. The trees shook like crazy in the bellowing winds and rain was now pelting him as if they had a personal vendetta with Akisa. He wasn't sure what kind of nightmare he was in but he knew he wished for nothing more than to wake up and be done. This all felt too real to be a dream. He looked back to the pair of piercing eyes, now seeing them peering out from the underbrush of the forest. Akisa reached for them again, knowing they were his way out of this nightmare but a loud roar stopped him in his tracks. He looked behind him and saw a black, shadow-like beast charging his way. He let out a yelp of fear as the beastly shadow came at him and turned around to grab the eyes one more time. But when he turned the eyes were no longer hidden. They moved out from the underbrush slowly- staring at the shadow beast now. A flash of lightening shed light on the figure in the dark, revealing for a brief second, a dark gray mask attached to a figure that looked much like.... him! Akisa blinked not sure of just what he saw. Lightening flashed again and he saw more of this doppelganger- only they seemed to have a multitude of tails. Akisa was about to voice out a question but then the beast roared again just before jumping to pounce on him. Quick as the lightening that struck- the doppelganger attacked, launching themselves at the beast. And with another flash of lightening, Akisa stirred from his dream roughly. He was breathing heavily as he glanced around to make sure he was truly where he should be. He didn't know what kind of psych dream he conjured up but it felt too real to ignore. Akisa looked at the lens charms, remembering the figure in his dreams. He didn't understand why he imagined himself in such a strong, cool form but that was definitely him. But why the mask? What was that shadowy figure? Why was he having all this crazy dreams. He looked at the fallen star again and saw that it was sizzling again. He wasn't sure why though since he hadn't touched the charms in his dream this time. He looked at the rock through his lens and saw something inside. He had no clue how he'd get to it though. He went up to the rock, seeing the two hollow holes in which the lens were burned out of, and began to think of a why to open it. All his ideas came up short though. The charms beside him began to glow, becoming the red of his own eyes despite not being looked through. The answer struck him then and he soon placed the two charms into the place they originally came. Not even a second later and the star broke and crumbled to pieces, leaving only a thin solid shape in it's wake. Upon closer inspection, Akisa

name; Catsune
prompt answers;
Catsune was trapped by an ancient binding ritual of the Starshines long ago, due to her dangerous powers that threatened the very fabric of reality. Her charm was split in half, a great pain even for a Starshine as powerful as her, and bound to her fifth tail, far away from her heart. This weakened her powers and brought her down to the abilities of a normal Starshine, and she was no longer thought a threat.

Many years later, Catsune discovered a metal that replicated the effects of an accessory, designed as an emergency replacement for Starshines who lost or tore their original accessories. She forged herself a mask out of that metal, unbound her charms from her accessory, and used them as the mask’s eyes.

The mask amplified her powers, giving her exceptionally keen sight and reflexes. However, her accessory-turned-prison remains attached to her tail, keeping her from using the true extent of her powers. She believes she can remove it if she finds an ancestor of one of the Starshines who bound her, but she has not managed to find any yet.

extras;
Her true name was lost in her wanderings; now she only goes by Catsune. She may be re-bound if her true name is used, however she currently poses no threat. She seems to speak an older version of the Starshine language.
While her younger self was a dangerous trickster, who used her powers to get a rise out of others, now Catsune is more reigned in. She has a love for reading, though she requires diagrams for full understanding.

I fully intended on awarding a lot of fun things for anyone who entered this; sadly, there just weren't a lot of finished forms.
-- The winner is krazykitty00. Your form is gorgeous, as is your tryout art. I loved the story you made, as well as the songs you chose.

No HM's will be awarded.
