Cupped between his large paws, roughened by the musical instruments he held so dear, she never felt more loved. Astraea lifted her head to meet her father’s eyes, and his resounding laugh lifted a flush, pink in its shyness, to her cheeks. He always said she looked the most like her ethereal mother in those moments. A mother they both missed oh, so dearly. “Ah, now there you are, my sweet little flower.”
His horn, a crown of melody and so exceedingly gentle with her, touched hers in that moment. She could feel his song reverberate through her own crest as he hummed his greeting.

At first, it was a dread for her to watch, but overtime she became used to it. I mean, you have to hate something at first to be able to truly love it, right? Perhaps not, but Melody has grown very attached to the little blue clever dog with possibly the cutest yap. She often urges her friends to watch it with her, but they refuse for the same reasons that she used to. Maybe it's time she didn't judge a book by its cover.

What is their favorite 'blue' thing?;;Her favorite 'Blue' thing is the younger songrem she takes under her care, Baikal! Baikal is often a very sad little thing, and very distant from other Songrem, making him very blue in nature. And in addition, the blue of the lower portions of his fur are also something that Anabella enjoys about the songrem that she considers...sort of as her adopted son. She is often very sad as well, and relates to Baikal in that way. To cope with her own sadness and need to be cared for, she cares for the younger Songrem, which helps her become...less blue inside. Anything blue reminds her of her adoptive son, since he's the most precious blue thing of all.

other than herself, eli loves the sky. simple, but she adores it. their's so much to see in it, day and night, from clouds, to planes, to birds and even the stars at night. She loves astronomy and loves learning all she can about the universe she lives in. She adores the clouds and the phantasmal shapes they make of themselves, whether it's just a blob or something as complex as a rocket ship, orbiting the blue rock we call "earth". She loves seeing planes because it reminds her that we've come so far as to be able to fly, even if we can't ourselves, it's still incredible that we've managed to create something like that. It's also a marvel that birds can fly, she wonders if she could as well, but even if she had wings, they probably couldn't get her off the ground. Oh well. At least she has the sky to look up at every day!

she feels alive when the trumpets start to play. jazz piano, a full orchestra. cue the curtains and the dancers. the theatre of it all, a rush, a flurry of music and voices and lights on the stage. blue sequins sparkle like diamonds (a girl's best friend!) and the rhythm of the piano carries her feet along. this is her favorite song, after all. she taps the stage with her blue suede heels so hard she hopes gershwin rolls in his grave. the music crescendos, erupting into euphoria and brass bellowing. she laughs, she sings, she scatters the notes like fleet fingers on the keys and the audience roars. she loves this song, loves the stage she's on, loves the feeling of losing herself to the melody like she's fallingfallingfalling in love with it all over and over again.

even when the music stops she still hears it linger in the air, sirensong. calling her back to an empty stage where she hums to herself, a dancer in the dark. but she's never alone, no— as long as she hears it in the beat of her chest, she'll always dance to that rhapsody in blue.

Herself.
Azu knows she has a gloomy disposition; often described as 'blue', she's grown used to affiliating herself with the term. She sees the rain and affiliates it with herself, caresses bluebells as she passes them and always gets blueberry treats in bakeries when she stops by-- but it's not particularly because she likes the color. In fact, blue would be one of her least favorite colors of all. She continues to obsess over blue because she feels like it's a part of her identity she cannot ever shake. The word 'blue' had followed her throughout her life-- from back when she was a shy kid up until she developed into a more calloused adult.

Azu watches others quietly, wondering what color they might be deep down inside. She feels sincerely like 'blue' is all she will ever be-- but she hopes maybe that isn't so true. Until then, she feels the only thing that should be connected to that word is herself-- and she does love herself despite her shyness and slowness to trust others, the traits other people label her a downer for.

As I found your writing expressed a lot of personality, and though many 'blue' things were mentioned- I enjoyed the play on the theme of the design and it said a lot about the character in your word choices and how a lot of small things contribute to a fluid 'actuality' of one blue scenario. As I found your interpretation of the prompt to be very fascinating- seeing blue not as a legitimate blue thing, but in a feeling, a color expressed through music that inspires such thoughts.
