Name: Alykhan-Indian for nature spirit
Gender:Non-Binary
Art/Writing: Just by their name, you can already tell Alyk is the free spirit type. They don't really worry about much and let themselves enjoy life with the most optimistic outlook.
"There was once a beautiful nymph who lived in the woods, tied to a sacred lake who she lived to protect. They said that if the nymph let you swim in that lake, some of the blessed water would stay with you, in the shape of a magnificent design upon your fur. And since that day you will be able to heal sickness and pain from whoever needs healing."
That is the story they always told the younger ones who asked about the shiny design on their fur. Even if the story is made up there
is some truth behind it. Al practices herbalism, using their knowledge of nature and love for helping to heal those who need their aid.
It all started when they were very little, always intrigued by the plants and what they could do, always asking what their names meant and why flowers and herbs smelled different, why they were different. Their parents managed to get them a herbology book and since then they've never been so passionate about anything else.
They grew up learning from books they managed to get their paws on and first-person experience. They would spend their whole day wandering through the forest, watching other critters interact with the vegetation and taking mental notes about what they observed. There were also other times in which they were more risky, testing out on themselves what the plants could do. It would be a lie to say that nothing bad ever happened to them, but that never stopped Alykhan. In fact, the bad experiences only motivated them, even more.
Alyk is not the type to give up.
Nowadays they keep learning about foreign plants and they even help out in a small botanical medicine office in a nearby village, taking plants and herbs and whatnot to restock. Helping out the human apprentices by letting them ask them yes & no questions to which they can respond with a nod or shake of their head. Showing the humans the best places to grow their crops and also teaching them how to plant certain specimens by doing so themselves the first time so they can see.
They also travel a lot, always alone but also always making friends in the way. And all of this, they wouldn't trade it for anything.
Extra note: Their favorite type of plants are succulents.
