It's nowhere beautiful, I'm afraid. I wish it were something glorious, but the world we live in has been reduced beyond such a standard as 'glorious'. The times oh blacksmithing and adventuring have expired and the age has turned instead to one that is desperate to find the cure for the plague. Yes, people still need the works of a smith and head out on adventures (thankfully so, else I'd be out of business entirely)-- but there is always an overhanging danger. My shop is visited by a variety of upcoming heroes who want to be the first to find some herb out in the wild that would cure this wicked world, and I send them off with the best they can afford and as many good wishes as are appropriate. The town is disturbingly quiet at some intervals and too loud at others. I hope only for the best but it becomes hard to hope when days turn into weeks and then months without a cure in sight. It feels this era may never end, but perhaps... perhaps there's more someone can do. Perhaps I should be doing more than sitting, gazing out the window and waiting for change.
