every single one he gets goes to a special place. (and sometimes ones he didn't recieve)

why does he do it?
michael says that cards have memories, even if all they say is "hi"

it started when he moved at a very young age, so when his friends mailed him things, he kept all the cards as reminders.

he now has almost 200 and is very proud of the collection.

what do they collect?

Luca says that she collects glass animals - she'll show them to you, a tiger ready to pounce, a dolphin swimming gracefully through translucent waves, a snail creeping up a flower stalk - but listen for a little longer and you'll learn that it's stories that she collects. There's a faraway look in her eyes as she talks of a boy as proud as a tiger and as sly as one, always waiting for the next heart to play with. A paw is brushed over the dolphin, remembering how she once outswam a storm, surging out of the water just as lightning sizzled and turned the sand of the other shore to glass. She considers the snail, traces the intricate spirals of its shell, but turns away and offers you a glass of lemonade instead - your own collection of stories will have to wait for another day.
