happysparrow - Lucid 'Lucy' Star - Female - Dream Writer - x - xThe oddly colored Kalon stops before you, and you feel your breath catch in your throat. Something about her is odd and fantastical, and ever so eerie. She looks down at you with narrowed, amused eyes, something sinister yet charming swirling within her pupils. Eyes were the windows to the soul, of course, but was this creature truly that horrific? You take a step back anyhow and she lowers her head, "I am incredibly sorry to frighten you. I am the dream writer, and I regret to inform you that you should have been asleep hours ago," You could have sworn she cursed under her breath after that last statement, and you watch as she slowly lifts her head. Grinning, she begins to whisper, stepping towards you as her words make you drowsy. You find that even though you try to stay awake, you can't help but fall asleep. The glowing orb resting in the tiara on her forehead does not help. Soon, you are asleep.

The world is spinning, and you find yourself in the whitest room you have ever seen. Everything seems to be in black and white, and you find yourself moving in a soft, dream-like state. Wait, is this not familiar? You've seen this scene dozens of times - no, millions! It has never ended well, and you begin shaking and running down the now all too familiar hallway. You hear them chasing you, faster than what your own paws can handle. Skidding to a stop in a large ballroom, you soon find yourself in the center. Dress swirling around your legs, and the people chasing you suddenly simply swirling around you. Your dream has shifted to a gentle ballroom scene, color slowly returning to the crowd.

As you look closer at the people, they are yet very frightening. They pay no attention to you, but the figures that have long haunted your dreams couldn't help but continue to frighten you. Hearing softer pawsteps, however, you turn to see the Kalon who had gently coaxed you into your nightmare. She steps up carefully to you, offering a paw and leading you in the strange ballroom dance that the others seemed engulfed in, "I didn't want you to see me outside of sleep," she explains, voice soft and wispy.
Eyes that you once believed sinister were now full of life, and they grounded you. You focused on her words, "But it is what it is. You've been having nightmares, I noticed, so I needed to correct them. No one should be having the same nightmares so many times in a row," she swirled again, tail swishing around her. The Kalon seemed to have gained a suit during this ordeal, and was now watching the nightmarish figures dancing around them carefully. Letting go of your paw, she soon took the paw of a nightmare, dancing among the crowd until every creature seemed to poof out of existence. When the ballroom was emptied, the Kalon stood directly in the middle, watching you. Her tiara - which you assumed held the power necessary for her to be rewriting and entering your dreams - changed from a deep purple to a spring lilac. You look around, giving a sigh of relief, "There. That should do it,"
the Kalon speaks, approaching you. They give a deep bow, exclaiming, "I am the one who is in charge of writing your dreams.
While nightmares are a necessary part of life, sadly, I let them go on for far too long. I apologize," you don't know what to except to nod. The Kalon straightens up, turning with a swish of the tail as she began to exit. Her job was done, and her apology given,
and you watch as she leaves you in the center of the very empty ballroom.
