what happened to their hair?: She was cooking an omelette and getting ready one morning. She decided to do her hair while cooking, a huge mistake. She grabbed a bottle of hairspray and boom, the stove was on fire. In a panic, she had lit her hair on fire. After a moment, she'd put the fire out, but her lovely braid was gone.
how to they feel about it?: She's pretty embarrassed about it. She doesn't usually tell the story since most just laugh at her and she HATES getting laughed at.

what happened to their hair?
___ never really liked her hair. it always got in the way, but due to her parent's amish beliefs she was unable to cut it for many years. instead, she brushed and braided it every morning before wrapping it up tightly under a bonnet to hide it away. she wasn't fond of her hair being kept in this specific way day in and day out, so when she befriended an english boy that lived down the street, the first thing they did together in an act of rebellion was cut and shave her hair as short as they possibly could make it.
how to they feel about it?
at first ___ was afraid of her parents' reaction, but her new friend helped her to stay brave and true to herself when it came to her appearance and self-expression. she loves not having the long, troublesome hair she had before, enjoying many hours of free time in the morning compared to her previous hours of brushing and braiding no matter how angry her parents may be.

what happened to their hair? Two words: peer pressure. Sonoma's not what you'd call a pushover, but is unfortunately pretty codependent, and hates to disappoint their friends- despite everyone else considering this characteristic as being sweet, it's truly Sonoma's greatest downfall. So, when they unwillingly joined a game of truth-or-dare at a party, and someone dared them to cut off their hair (one of Sonoma's best features, really, it had taken a few years to grow out), it was really hard to say no, and the rest went down in history.
how to they feel about it? Sonoma is trying really hard to get used to the change! They've been wearing a lot of hats since then, though, and secretly really miss the warmth. And although their friends think of them as courageous and a dare devil, Sonoma's made a promise to themselves to be stronger willed!

what happened to their hair?: Fawn had always been a talented dancer that loved her hobby, and would perform both alone and with others. She enjoyed having longer hair, mainly because of the way that it always chased her when she moved and everything that she could do to style it and, well, express herself. This changed a bit however when it had grown quite long and the braiding wasn't able to help keep it out of the way. Because of the new trouble she had with her hair and dancing (plus the fact that she had had the same hair styles for a while), she decided to cut it off and get a fresh start.

how to they feel about it?: Though she still misses her old hair a lot, she does like the change and trying out the new dances that she might have had more trouble with thanks to her longer hair.

what happened to their hair? When you're on the run, you have to simplify all that was once complicated. Riley learned this early on. Material objects were cast aside in order to move quicker, and he burned the place he once called home to the ground in fear of its contents somehow leading them to him. The one thing he didn't consider was his hair. His mother was fascinated by it when he was a child, often speaking of its beauty and delicacy. In time he too began to see his hair as more than just simply strands, it was a part of him, and so he kept it pristine. It grew until it almost touched the floor and yet he never took scissors to its magnificent braid. That is, until that decision had come back to haunt him. One evening in the woods while running—always running—he stumbled and got tangled up in a mess of branches. His hair was caught in the thick of it, essentially trapping him. With no other means of escape, and those hunting him drawing dangerously closer, he made the split second choice to unsheathe his knife and slice off the only thing he had left to remember his mother by.
how to they feel about it? Left with the undignified mess that was now his hair, he wasn't quite sure how to feel. The weight was gone and he'd taught himself that being faster was the key. Yet there was this loneliness left in his heart. Riley spent years giving up anything that tied him to his past and yet this one simple thing, this braid that was now lost to the woods, settled like a pit in his stomach. That night when finding yet another inconspicuous tavern bed to rest for the night, he laid awake thinking about the way his mother's fingers used to comb through his hair.

what happened to their hair?
Forest fire. A quick flame was all it took to take away most of his hair and some of his fur {which thankfully grew back}.
He and his family were camping, and all was well. None of them suspected that it would turn into a disaster.
A fire pit was left by a careless camper nearby, and the forest lit up like a christmas tree.
Flames covered every inch it could, including hair and fur, and everyone managed to escape before any serious harm was done.
Except him.
He was only a small child, he didn't know what to do in this situation.
Every direction he look was flames, and soon enough the smoke intoxicated him and forced him unconscious.
When he woke up, he noticed right away patches of his fur were missing, as well as the braids he nourished for years.

how to they feel about it?
He wasn't mad, but he also wasn't happy.
On the bright side, he survived, only costing him his hair of some fur, but he had the braids for all his life.
He's never been able to regain his braids, as his parents claimed that was why he couldn't escape {as he apparently was found with his braids stuck in a nearby bush}, but he's just overall thankful that was all it costed to make it out alive.
