adoptive family:
- Charrus is her adoptive father, who is extremely protective of Hilana. He likes seeing her smile, and seems to have her pegged as his favorite. They get along well, with Hilana not talking all that much and with Charrus going on and on and on. She respects and really likes Charrus, but she holds her ground when she needs to.
Kadir is her adoptive brother, who at first didn't want her. However, after years of getting negative reactions to her neck, she got a positive one when she took off the scarf. He changed his tune, and was excited to have her as his slightly younger sister. He gets her to talk a lot, and while he doesn't broadcast that she's his sister because he's not homeschooled like her, he definitely really loves her. He hates when others hurt her, and seems to have her as one of the only wolves he really cares about. She'll often go to him for comfort, and of the few times Kadir gets upset, she's the one who gets him to talk. If they weren't adoptive siblings, he'd be the type of guy Hilana would want to date. Of course, she doesn't see the flirty, party animal, "bad boy" side quite as much as other girls do. If she did, she would thoroughly disapprove. Kadir knows this, and because he wants her acceptance so much, he hides that side of him from her, and for some reason Charrus hides it as well.
