Why them?

Avasei met Hikari when he was caught beneath a fallen tree after a wild storm. At first, she didn't help him. She laid infront of him casually and spoke with him as though this were completely normal, despite his constant sarcastic remarks and pleadings. After a while of conversating, Hikari then lifted the tree and threw it off as if it were a twig. Avasei was, at first, rather furious with her for her hesitation. Hikari kept her cool though, and stopped him in his tracks with the simple mention of how light the log actually was. Suddenly embarrassed, Avasei turned away and left the forest-born Plumerian to return to his home. There he laid for several hours, trying to think of something other than Hikari, but failing miserably. In the morning, we left to seek her out. Hours passed by without a single sign of her, but Avasei refused to give up. At one point, he paused for a drink of water. As he was lapping up the cool liquid, he felt something light fall and land on his head. Avasei shook his head and watched a pigeons feather drift to the ground. Confused, he looked up to where it came from, just in time to see dozens of feathers falling from the sky towards him. He scuttled away and glared at the slow-falling objects. Suddenly feeling irritated, he turned sharply to return home, but was instead greater by familiar chocolate eyes. Hikari smiled at the Viscet and cast her gaze behind him before mentioning the feathers. Avasei

Every now and then they have small bickers over where to eat or what to do but they are two peas in a pod.
