when he was still with his parents, he would read greek mythology a lot, especially the tale of echo, a nymph who was cursed by the goddess hera. zeus would visit the nymphs, and one day hera came to follow him to catch him, but echo engaged her in long conversations every time she saw hera in the forest, giving zeus time to escape. when hera found out what echo was up to, she cursed the nymph to only be able to repeat the last words she heard.

echo found this intriguing and decided to change their birth name to echo, telling no one he met his real name. as time went on, his sight grew worse and worse. eventually, his left eye went blind. he hated how it looked and how useless it was, so in a fit of rage he gouged it out. this was followed by immediate regret. he covered both his eyes in shame. he was absolutely terrified for his secret to be let out, so he let his hair grow out for a long time before coming out of hiding.

why do they hide their eyes? - As most people are, she is extremely shy! She isn't pushy at all, so hiding eye contact, she thinks, will help as most people are mean when you reach eye contact (and of course they are like a bully or someone just really mean). She also does it because she thinks she has no sort of perfection or isn't pretty at all, and her eyes would make it worste. Sometimes she even cries because things go to the worste in life, and you need a good cry. She also thinks that 'if I can't become invisible to some people, just hide what you can from everyone'.

why do they hide their eyes?
Amii hides her eyes in fear that she will fall in love with the 'wrong person'. It's happened many times
before where she has swooned over others that are out of reach, which has hurt her. Appearance gets
her every time and mainly it's the look someone holds, their smile or their eyes. She knows that she
shouldn't, but can hardly help it, therefore she covers her eyes with her hair, hoping that when she falls
in love, it will be based on personality and will happen gradually over time.
Personality
Amii is a sweet little girl, bought up in a small neighbourhood and surrounded by kind and caring people.
She is an only child, therefore spent most time at home on her own or with her parents, no sibling to
annoy or play with.
She spent her time after school knitting and planting flower from a very young age, and her parents were
very surprised she could do so. Wide-eyed, Amii lives in the moment, careless about past experiences,
though she does hate it when embarrassing moments refresh in her memory. However, she does like to think
about the future and what it has in store for her, though it's impossible for her to tell when she has no idea what part she wants to play in the world.
Socialising can be hard at times with Amii, she likes to listen more than contribute. When others ask her question, she tries to answer them in a quick way that satisfies them, not leaving them confused.Amii is never in a rush, and is seen to dawdle a lot, taking everything in. If people rush her, she can get frustrated, mad at them for not letting her take her time.
