"I was named after one of the most depressing stories in the world. Living with that name, well, it was hard. But, it was the only thing my birth parents actually left me, so...I chose to keep it. I'm Avarice. No, not Avery; it's Avarice. There's a difference. Anyway, you wanna know about Dad? Sure, I can tell you about him." The pale brown RPW just slightly smiles, but his face quickly goes back to its normal, sullen look, his hair falling over his eyes. Only his ears, nose, and mouth can be seen on his face. Even when he tilts his head, you still can't see anything other than his ears, nose, and mouth. With a slight flick of his right wrist, he continues. "My dad's name is Gerard. He wasn't always known by his last name Wentworth until very recently, when he and his brother Beracun found their long-lost brother, Cirius Wentworth. But that's another story for another day, I guess. I'm just explaining why you might not know his last name - if you aren't a great friend of his, he won't bother to keep you in the loop about his life, so...you might just know the guy as Gerard. Anywho, that's my dad." With another very small smile, the RPW pauses, takes a sip of cold milk from the glass to his right, and then continues. "My adoptive dad, to be specific. My real parents...well, I dunno what happened to 'em or why they gave me up. I just remember growing up in the orphanage, with other RPWs my age. It wasn't the best time in my life, so I try not to think on it often. Anyways, back to Dad. I call Gerard my dad because, well, he is my dad. He's the only RPW who's ever bothered to even look out for me or take care of me. He feeds me, walks me to school, and just...takes care of me. He's everything I ever wanted in a parent, really. Not too talkative, and more listening by nature, Dad really doesn't say much unless he's really well-acquainted with you. We're complete opposites in that regard. I'm a chatterbox - he's pretty clammed up unless you're a buddy of his. What's that? Oh, I forgot - sorry. Like I said, I chat a lot." With a slightly embarrassed duck of his head, the RPW sits and thinks about the question asked of him. He makes up his mind quickly. "Okay, okay. Back on track now. So...you don't wanna know about my dad, but about our relationship? That's a boring question, but all right then." The young RPW shrugs, takes a breath, and then continues speaking. "Dad and I get along really well. I mean, yeah, we have our spats and junk - once he wouldn't let me buy this awesome music record I wanted to get and blast in my room because he had looked into it and found it really...how did he put it? Oh, yeah. Trashy is what he called it. So, yeah, I blew up at him and yelled at him, and he grounded me for a week. That was really hard on me - no electronics, and no having friends over. I went to school and came back home and was literally just doing schoolwork from sunup to sundown every single day for a full week. But, I look back at that and thank him for it." He smiles, much larger than his previous looks of glee, and then speaks once again. "Dad knew that he was instilling in me the ability to be able to discern for myself what I wanted out of life and what I didn't want. I either follow the rules, or I have a punishment. I don't like punishments, so now I follow the rules. If I follow the rules, we don't have any problems. He's really a great guy, though - doing what he did helped me also see that I really didn't need what I thought I so desperately wanted to obtain. Yes, I still would have enjoyed the music - but would I truly have needed it? Probably not. With that, Dad taught me to discern. Do I really need this thing I wanna buy, or do I just want it? That's what I ask myself now before I make any purchases. Dad's helped me realize that, and for that I'm happy...and thankful." He pauses once again, appears to look in your direction, and then starts up once more. "So, if that doesn't answer your question well enough, I'll continue. Stop me at any time. Trust me, I won't be offended. Anywho, Dad - that is, Gerard - and I do have our spats, as I mentioned. But usually, I can learn something from those spats...even if it takes years for me to realize it. Trust me, I still have a lot to learn, and I'm not dissing Dad at all. It's just that sometimes, he can get on my case about stuff that I just don't get what the big deal is. I can't understand it. Like...he annoys and bugs me to clean my room up. Yeah, I get that he thinks I'll be able to find stuff easier if it's clean - but I never lose stuff now. I know where everything is, because it has a place on my floor. Trust me, I can find anything in my room within three minutes of looking for it. So, it's not really hindering my everyday life. I still don't get why it bothers Dad so much, but he'll pester me and pester me and refuse to do stuff for me until I make at least a little progress on my room. He'll even go so far as to outlaw me from eating my favorite desserts - anything with chocolate or mint; I'm really not that picky of an eater - by not buying them if he knows my room isn't clean. Yeah, great idea to get me to do stuff, so props to him for thinking it up - but it's SUPER aggravating on my end. He just hasn't explained what the big deal is...even though I have asked before. Oh well. That's about the only annoying thing I can think of that he does, other than giving me a very strict curfew. I have to be home before it gets dark out, otherwise I get no TV for three days straight." The RPW looks a bit troubled, but shakes it off and continues. "I only did that twice before learning that the consequences just weren't worth it. Even though that's annoying, though, I get why he does it. He wants me to be punctual. What better way to do that then start early on in my life, right? Anywho, something I love about my dad is that we can talk about anything. ANYTHING. I don't care what it is - I can come to him with anything and not have to worry about being pushed away for it. I really love that about him. I don't have to worry about being kicked out for just believing a certain way or disagreeing with him - he honestly doesn't care. Like, he cares about what I think, and he'll hear me out - but he won't change his mind and he knows I won't change mine. So...he doesn't care about what I believe as long as I follow his rules, which I do. And...lemme make somethin' clear. He's not a dictator. It's not like he'll severely punish me for some slight mess up. It's if something is recurring that he has an issue with. Dad's really understanding, and is honestly someone I look up to." He smiles widely, a toothy grin flashing in your direction to disappear only moments later. "Dad adopted me pretty recently, so I'm still getting used to living with him, but I'm honestly so grateful to him for helping me get out of that dingy old orphanage. I couldn't care where I went, honestly - I just wanted to get out of there. I'm in a much better place now, and am so pleased that Gerard wanted to adopt me. So...Dad is a great wolf, even though he does have his faults. I really love being around him, and am glad to tell you all about him. If that's all you needed, I need to get home. Curfew is in two hours." With a flick of his brightly-tipped tail, Avarice smiles politely and trots out the door, ending the interview.

booklover789! Congrats. <3 I loved the depth you put into his relationship with his adopted dad. I also have a weak spot for names that have Latin origins/Roman names... and especially when you give an actual Latin word! :"D I'm such a Latin nerd. -awkward coughing- Anyway, enjoy him!
