When Basil was just a young filly, she was in an accident, injuring a foreleg. It left her with a permanent limp. Though many tried to fix her, all failed; she was already teased for being a strange color, and now the other foals had another reason to bully her.

But though Basil's coat was strange, and she didn't move like the rest of them, she never quit trying. She ignored the name-calling and the insults; and because of that, and how she had the willpower to push on, she became one of the most loved horses at Oakwood. "Whatever you do, never stop dreaming," is a quote she always tells the young foals she comes across; and it's one she lives by. Even though she went through rough times, she never stopped dreaming; and in the end, it all worked out.
