The snowy owl was one of Prisma's favorite animals.
She had loved them since the one day she was walking in a snowy field.
It was getting dark outside but she didn't mind.
She had been following a "hooting" noise, as it brought her senses to curiosity.
She been following it as soon as the sun slowly started to set.
A rustle sounded between the trees as she looked up,
the moonlight hitting the big winged bird.
She saw something floating slowly down to the ground.
She walked up to where it had landed.
A pretty small feather from the bird.
She loved the markings on it and swore to always keep it with her.
As she started to walk back home the bird reappeared in front of her.
It felt like forever, like time stopped as it flew into vision.
Prisma smiled at her new friend.

Hello everyone! It's another recording by Larimar, formerly known as Violet! This time on paper. Harl E. Quin and I have a lot to tell you since our last adventure but first I'm going to record this: Callisto.

Is that a good enough name? I'm never that great with coming up with them. I got lucky with Quin. But yes, there has been another Zver sighting and boy are they a beauty! I've never seen one that color before and I've seen a lot of Zvers. Even Quin was starstruck.

We saw them at the Cathedral in town. It's a pretty busy place around here and so many markets too. So many people milling around going from shop to shop and that's when we saw them. Quin tried to show me what they said to them telepathically, but I'm nowhere near as close to understanding the flashing pictures and murmuring thoughts. Still I thought it was sweet they tried.

Anyhow Callisto, as I'm going to call them, was spotted going in the Cathedral today. Now, what I did not expect while going in there was a marriage ceremony to be taking place! I had to sit down on the pew and boy was it uncomfortable. But Callisto was there and I noticed a rose veil was on their back before realizing they were apart of the ceremony! They held the train for the bride, and as we watched, Quin and I saw that they had placed a paw on top of the newlyweds' clasped hands, almost as though they were blessing them. As it turned out they were!

Later on I spoke to the priest after the ceremony was over and we gained a little history. The town was 2,000 years old but upon the descendants of Zvers moving in on Earth, and the governments of the world trying to catch them, traditional hunting of them had changed when a Zver of a starry appearance led a group of lost children home. This same Zver had also saved this very cathedral from catching fire and had been a guardian over them all. When they died they left behind three pups, but only one survived.

Since then, Callisto has served her purposes as the town guardian well but the priest mentioned that she might not be as happy as she wishes them to believe.

I kept thinking about his words, even now. However when he spoke of bounty hunters in the town searching for her, well, I knew we'd have to act fast! The real question is what to do. The priest, bless him, was actually considering letting her go. Somewhere where she'd be safe. When we gained permission to speak with them, I realized just how difficult things might be when Callisto refused to go. In fact I didn't understand at first until a rushing of mental images, far clearer than what Quin tried showing me earlier, rushed into my mind. A dark alley, the entrace surrounded, a flash of red and black and white, a gun, and the cathedral. The there were people, indistinctive features. Children, adults, teens, elderly.

It was difficult to piece together but I got the point. She was afraid to go and leave them here, her townspeople. She didn't want to abandon them!

Head rushing from the odd mental picture show, I tried to come up with something.

And then I had a plan.

In order to fet these bounty hunters to leave this place alone they'd need a reason to. So with the Priest's permission, I decided to trick them.

With the help of a local newspaper and a few choice advertisements, we were able to create a fake ad that led to the Z.P.F, the Zver Protection Foundation close by. This meant that these Bounty Hunters were about to get a nasty, but polite and educational word on Zvers and just why they needed to be protected. As a member of Z.P.F, I can definitely attest to it.

Within a weeks time, the bounty hunters were gone and Zvers were safe again. Still, Callisto and the priest were rightfully worried about them coming back and causing trouble again. But perhaps with a bit of creativity we could convince these bounty hunters to leave them alone. And with the legend of the starry Zver to help them on their way.

But the weird thing is, they never came back.

Quin and I waited for weeks but there was never any sign of them. The priest said it was a miracle but later that night I got a call. The bounty hunters were definitely coming! And they were angry. From what I was informed of, they were going to round up all the Zvers they could find. Something had to be done!

    I felt awful.

The one thing I was trying to protect, I endangered!

However in the end, Callisto's sharp thinking came through when she rounded up all the strays and led them out of town. I'd never seen so many Zvers in one sitting before. Quin shrunk away from them, but Callisto would not. They couldn't. The Zvers left that very night and the starry Zver took them far, far away.

It was something I had never seen before and the people gathered to see them off. Kids, children, teens, adults, elders. A single candle and a light to help them see through the darkness was brought by each person, yours truly included. I felt lower than a snake but when I confessed this to the priest smiled and told me it wasn't my fault. These Zvers were going to go one day. Everyone in town knew that, Callisto included. He can only wish she had a safe journey.

The next few days were tense. Without the Zvers to laze around with, many were uneasy. Those bonded kept their Zvers away from the dangers of the Bounty Hunters. I told Quin the same myself and had them stay in the Cathedral.

Everyone is waiting for the Bounty Hunters. When they arrive, the people are not happy. Discontented with the loss of their Zvers and upset with the state of this town, many are angry. I expected to be singled out myself but it never occurred. The lack of hospitality waxes and those Hunters looked more than a little nervous. It was so strange but I found myself in such a Zver positive town, where the people loved their Zvers and bondeds were not as rare.

The Bounty Hunters seemed to realize their mistake in coming back within the next few days. Soon from the cold shoulder the town had given collectively they were gone. I worried about Callisto and the others so I decided to take a team and track them down. Make sure they're okay.

    What I found was amazing.

There in the flat plains was a steep divide that led down. The more you walked, the more you would see. And as I walked down I noticed ancient buildings. The closer we went the more ruins we found and there were the Zvers, happy, healthy, running about. They seemed to be everywhere! And in this paradise I saw the one Zver that made it happen and she saw me.

I don't think I ever knew Callisto to be happy until that moment. And so much about her had changed. She ran towards me, soft rose eyes bright. I couldn't help it bending down to hug her close. She'd really gone above and beyond with this place.

The way Callisto looked was so happy. I was proud of her and as team went to explore, I carefully rubbed her ears and listened to her purr faintly. After the team and I explored for a bit we decided to go and show the others but when I tried to leave, Callisto blocked my way, continuously. Curious as to what this was all about, I told them to go ahead. I'd be there soon enough.

Callisto wanted me to stay but why?
I found my answer when I sat down and ended up with a lapful of starry Zver and realized she wanted to bond.

Now that was odd to me because well this whole mess felt like it was my fault, but Callisto nosed and nudged insistently still. She wanted to try. So I let her. Bonding is like reaching out with everything you have. You reach out mentally, emotionally and physically. For some the bonding is easy but for people like me, it's a bit tougher. Callisto was trying but I couldn't understand her quite and I stopped her before she could hurt herself. She looked hurt at my interference but I quickly explained that we didn't know each other that well yet. It was going to take time to get where she wanted to be. It's never been easy for me to open up to anyone and after this whole fiasco I was feeling less like I wanted to open up and more like hiding underneath a rock. But it wasn't because of her or that I didn't want to.

Callisto is a good listener and after a bit of thought she gazed up at me with determination. She truly wanted to bond with me but could see it would take some work. So she sent me her thoughts, a moving picture show of us and walking away from the town. Well how could I say no to that?

Callisto wanted to prove herself and well I wanted to prove myself too, though I wasn't sure about taking the town's Starry guardian away anywhere but the priest was elated when I told him the news and gave Callisto 'blessed' items such as an owl feather charm and chained earrings. This would help her keep her mind clear he told me and I could only wonder as he murmured hymns to the starry Zver who looked at me with determination blazing in her eyes. By the time the skies looked pitch black and the stars were out, it was time to go. And as we left, I swear to this day another starry figure watched up go.

Congratulations! I loved your form a lot. ;w;
