We just got home from the Cinco de Mayo festival! What a time we had! There were singers, dancers, and so much food! We're all so full! Poor Bear, though... He had to be tough and eat the spiciest sauce available. We had to come home early from the festival because he wasn't feeling too well. And I had to get out of there before they set off the fireworks. Ever since I moved here I haven't had to deal with loud noises. Or sticks, for that matter. Any way, we're all happy to be back before dark. Jude's leg was starting to give her a little trouble and Sofia has never been awake very late at night. I imagine we'd all be a little scared of the fireworks, as pretty as their pictures are.

As for the dog show I had been training for, it was really fun. It was really just playing like I normally would, but with a few tricks thrown in. After the show, Soapy took a photo of me catching a flying disk that someone from the audience had thrown. I'm glad I got to be a part of all the entertainment. The dancers were great and so were the musicians. One of them even threw me a maraca!

We have a new member to the family! This is Blue, who is about my age. Everyone has given him a warm welcome, and he seems friendly, but he's so quiet! I asked him why he's so quiet, but he just shrugged. I showed him around the house and then we went and played outside. That night we decided to sleep beside each other and dream together. And what an imagination he has. He speaks a lot more in his dreams, too. We built nests and lakes and even a small house. He claims to have his own map that he likes to go to when he's alone, but may show me one day. I sure hope he does.

Soapy tells me that there are people from the shelter coming tomorrow to see how I'm doing.
