Well Hess is not what you would call 'romantic' in fact he is the opposite. He is socially awkward and many think he's a little creepy. But Hess in his own quiet little way tried his very very best to catch her eye! He plucked the thorny roses off of the bush in my front yard and dropped them in her stall. not very exciting i know :p they were wilted and dead by the time she found them so he knew he would have to try a whole lot harder to get her attention. so when she was alone out in her pasture he made his way to the fence and began to sing to her. surprisingly Hess has quite a nice voice for one who hardly ever talks. He sang her every cheesy love song he could think of and somehow she found his futile attempts adorable.

How did the stallion win her heart?: It was not an easy deed for Dictator, to say the least. Naturally, as his name suggests, he is hard to deal with and ridiculously stubborn. It was hard for him to at first admit the fact that he was smitten with Va'len. When he did, he had another task - win her heart.

Dictator watched Va'len from his place in the pasture. He had made friends with her, but was afraid to admit the feelings he had to her. How would he ever win her heart? The stallion slowly took a couple of steps towards her. As he did, he spotted another stallion race across the field and throw himself at Va'len. Dictator held back, surprised. He narrowed his eyes as he saw the other horse make threatening advances. Sweet Va'len shyly stepped back, clearly startled and seeming uncomfortable. The other stallion kept at it. Dictator's eyes widened with anger. He flew across the field and threw himself between Va'len and the stallion. He flattened his ears and stuck out his nose at the rude stallion, asking him to back away. The horse didn't flinch, and moved to bite at Dictator and shove him away.

Dictator's intolerance burst. He reared up and slammed his feet down just in front of the other stallion, who staggered back in surprise. Dictator forced him back, until finally the aggressive horse turned and fled. He immediately faced Va'len whose eyes softened as she saw him. Dictator cautiously nuzzled the mare, and he knew. Without even knowing, he had won the heart of his dearly beloved.
