What's Your Favorite Video Game, And Why?
I don't even need to tell you what my favorite video game is. AND NO IT'S NOT MY FAVORITE BECAUSE I GET TO BLOW THINGS UP THAT'S JUST A BONUS!!!
I can sit here for hours and list all the reasons why I'm absolutely in love with Red Dead Redemption but I'd be here for a few millenniums. So I'm only going to name a few for the sake of time.
World

Red Dead Redemption features an enormous and mysterious map where you can escape reality and become the brooding cowboy lost in his thoughts. There's everything from a bustling city to (Quite literally.) haunting remote locations that make even the hardened gunslinger you play as question his business there. When traveling between countries there's a drastic change in the scenery, people, music, and behavior of your character. You can ride for hours and either mess around or just travel through the Old West at your own pace. I've found myself walking my horse across the desert and just taking in the sights for hours.
Main Character

In this brilliant game you play as the ex-outlaw turned bounty hunter John Marston. He's one of the last remaining gems of the Old West as the federal government works to bring civilization to this lawless land you travel through. I'm not going to sugarcoat it. John has innocent blood on his hands. What he's done is despicable. He's a rough and tough criminal, and those scars on his face show it. But as you play through the game it's very hard not to get attached to him. He's very down to earth, and is humorous in his own dry, twisted kind of way. His intelligence is relentlessly insulted throughout the game, but just listening to him speak, he's actually very wise. Perhaps he is a little enigmatic at times, probably deliberately as well, but under all that dust there is a diamond. He acts very indifferent to the people he meets throughout his mission, but I have no doubt that he'd take a bullet for any of them if the situation ever arose. SPOILER:The ending to the game is very Western, and after all he's been through, John is killed in a blaze by the people who said they were 'giving him a chance at new life.' By this time I grew so attached to them I felt an actual emptiness by his death. I felt like I had lost a family member. I cried...No...I bawled like a little baby.
Music
Exodus In America
Far Away
This is just a sampling of some of the music in RDR. You get to listen to these wonderful pieces, and many others while riding around in the incredible landscape I mentioned earlier. The song Far Away plays after the mission 'We Shall Be Together In Paradise,' as Marston rides into Mexico for the first time. It's a wonderful moment any way you play it, but if you're really lucky a storm breaks at a perfect moment, or the sun sets in just the right way, and it just completes the moment. You will search for these songs after you hear them, and they will stick with you long after you've completed the game. Just listening to Exodus In America has caused me to go back and start a new game just to hear the music.

What? You thought I WASN'T going to mention Undead Nightmare?
That's cute.
