Story:
Jalen knew he was different from other Solkon from the very beginning, no other Solkon had the big flappy things on their backs, and after another day of trying to run away from them, his mother tracked him down in a dark corner and decided to tell him the story of where he came from.

One day, while hunting in the forest, she found a large nest on the ground. It had been blown out of the top of the largest tree in the forest during a storm and fallen down through the branches until it landed in a pile of moss.
When she found the big blue and white egg sitting nestled in the remains of the nest, she thought it might make a good meal, but then it moved (giving her a fright and causing her to jump back), then she realised there was a living baby in the big egg!
After pushing and pulling it out of the nest, she rolled the big egg all the way back to her home, where she showed it to her mate. After a bit of discussion they decided to see what might hatch from the big egg (they were unable to breed so they would never have a baby of their own to look after) so they took the egg, put it n their cave, and slept wrapped around it to keep it warm.
They keep it warm for days, and days, never thinking of giving the egg up, even when other Solkon made fun of them for taking care of another animals egg. But then came the big day they had been waiting for! They heard a loud noise and when they turned to look a crack appeared down the side of the egg...they rushed over and made encouraging noises and cooing at the egg to see what would come out.
After some time, they saw large claws poking through the crack, something was pushing it's way out and the claws looked very much like Solkon claws? A few more pushes and finally a head emerged from the egg and imagine their surprise when they saw the perfectly formed furry head of a Solkon!? They were overjoyed to finally have the baby they always wanted, and cleaned him as each new part was revealed.
His back seemed a bit deformed as he came out but they weren't worried, they loved him nonetheless, and so they cleaned him some more, but then the deformity moved? Suddenly there were wings flapping about their faces and they couldn't believe their eyes at the wondrous creature before them. They fell in love with their littled winged baby and raised him as their own.
