How/Why is his/her tail so short?
Daniel was abandoned by his mother as a pup. Left to wander the forest he grew up having to fight for every last scrap. Now full grown, he is a force to be reckoned with. Never having the opportunity to settle down and create his own den, one night he stumbled into a cave that was already occupied. The creature inside was not pleased at the intrusion and a fight ensued. Due to close proximity, it was a rough fight that left Daniel fleeing into the night, but not before the creature made sure he wouldn't come back. That night, the other creature was able to grab his tail while Daniel struggled to escape, and the creature almost bit through it. Daniel later ended up loosing his tail when a human found him bleeding on the side of the road.

I sould name her Zira. Think of it as pronounced like zero just with an "uh" sound instead of the o and spelled with an I. I know its wierd but its also unique and I like the sound of it.

Why the short tail?
When Zira was born she had a normal length tail. When she was still pretty little she was messing around and had an accident and it got cut. She thought that maybe it would grow back like a lizard's or snake's so she kept it wrapped up to stop the bleeding for a while but then left it open so it could grow. Eventually the fur grew back over it but it never grew longer again. She has grown to live with it but was disappointed when she was little and found out that it wouldn't grow back at all.
