story
marley was born in a litter of six in the depths of winter. he was the runt of the litter, small and sickly his mother took little notice of him. she had eyes only for the eldest of the litter, burke, his only brother. his father was a weak male who lived only to serve his mother's beck and call. his sisters were all well cared for, all stronger and larger than him. his mother wanted nothing to do with her tiny ill son, whom she hadn't even named, 'stealing' milk which should be making her 'better' kits stronger and demanded her mate dump him far away from their isolated territory and let him die alone in the cold. his father did leave with his youngest son clamped in his jaws, but he couldn't leave the weak kit as he turned his back to leave. so he picked up the kit again and began to search for somewhere to leave him where he would have a chance of survival. that didn't stop the male being surprised when he came across the scents of his own, he walked around the territory line and finding a place which smelt to be marked daily, dropped the kit and ran. it was freezing that night, and the kit was almost stone cold come the first pale rays of winter sunshine that next dawn. curled up in a patch of weeds, kavora almost passed by him. of course a kit as defenceless and sick, not to mention as young as he was, couldn't be counted a threat in anyone's eyes. she took him into her pride, and there he has been ever since. despite the fact he is a very handsome young male, his mysterious appearance on their territory has led to him being bullied by many of his fellow young vel vitrums and he's heard his name being mentioned warily by the elders of the pride too. this has led to his reserved ways, and he can often be found by himself. he is quite close with kavora, who he feels he is forever in debt to for saving his life not so long ago.
