    Owner:
    Dark.
    Show Name:
Vodka's official showname is Vodka on Ice, this is the showname he took after he was moved to France and later Britain. However, the name on Vodka's passport is, водки на льду, which is Russian (literally translating as 'Vodka on Ice'). In Russian, his name is phonetically pronouned as vodki na l'du [vod-KEY nal DU].
    Barn Name:
Vodka is his barn name, named after his breeders favourite Russian drink. In his native tongue, his name is written as водки and phonetically pronounced as Vodki [vod-KEY].
    Gender:
    Stallion
    Color:
    Dapple Grey
    Height:
    16.1hh
    Breed:
    Orlov Trotter
Orlov Trotter is a breed native to Russia, and quite possibly, the most noted Russian breed. It is renowned for it speed and stamina, aswell as a certain aptitude for harness racing (something which Vodka is a perfect example of). Orlov Trotters are predominantly grey, ranging from very near-white greys to dapples, irons and steels.
    Discipline:
    Vodka is a harness racer
    A little bit of history...:
Vodka was bred on a small farm, 4 miles out of the town of Dobryanka, in Russia. The farmer still kept Orlov Trotters to work alongside his farm machinery and occassionally bred his favourite pair, putting the offspring up for sale. However, one colt showed so much spirit and presence, that they decided to keep him on. They named the colt Vodka.

As soon as Vodka turned two, he was long reined and broken to drive. He took to driving like a flash, but rebelled whenever anyone tried to sit on his back. He spent two years being worked on the farm, pulling rickety wooden carts loaded with straw and hay. The farmer had a teenage son, who had always shown a certain aptitude for carriage driving. A local harness race was to be organized. The farmer's son decided to enter with Vodka. The pair won, at least ten feet between them and the next competitor.

That started Vodka's career. Him and the farmers son began to compete in multiple harness racing events, winning almost everyone. They spent two years travelling the local circuit before the farmer was given an offer he couldn't refuse. A wealthy Russian stables, devoted to harness racing offered to buy Vodka for 25,000 rubles.

Vodka was moved to a professional barn in Moscow was he was six. He ran with them for 3 years, winning a multitude of races; including a few cups and a National title. When he was nine, he was bought out by a Parisian harness racer, and moved to an expensive yard in Paris, France; where he rubbed shoulders with Selle Francais', Standerdbred's and French Trotters. He was the only Orlov on the yard, and very quickly stood out from his peers in both speed and skill. Vodka went onto compete and win some pretigious French events.

Now, after four successful years with the French yard, he was semi-retired as a thirteen year old and sold to an English buyer. Now, he lives plushy life as a valued stud on a stud farm in the North-East of England. He is also used for commercial carriage driving and competes in the show ring in the driven category. His most current - and most challenging - venture is the fact that his owner is slowly trying to school him to become a dressage horse. However, Vodka's favourite moments are when he is brought of of retirement for the annual harness race at the local county fair!
