Story:Chaii had always thought very highly of herself, among the cats in the neighborhood she was pampered. She had the most expensive toys and collars. Her friends envied her, her enemies hated her and her acquaintances wanted to know her better. She had a few chosen friends - a white long haired main coon named Alice, a short haired tabby named Gina, and a calico named Grace - but mostly just followers.
One day Chaii decided to go for a walk, accompanied only by her shadow. She walked around the paved sidewalks and thought to herself about some of the comforts of her plush life and her posh friends. Her shadow grew longer as she walked, the sun dipping in the sky until she had the colors of a beautiful sunset painted across her fur.
She looked around her and realized she was completely lost, her surroundings odd and unlike the ones she was used to. A few cars passed by on her left, all old and looking like they were on the edge of breaking. On her right tall gray buildings that all looked the same. In a dark shadow she heard someone cough.
Chaii was out of her element, and she was scared.
The cat turned around and started in the other direction, looking for away back to the perfectly trimmed lawns and cute houses with ocean views. Her paws carried her farther and farther away from her destination until she found herself among houses with odd angles and people who smelt of sewage. She looked around her until she noticed a mutt perched behind her and jumped. The dog started to bark and she ran to where ever she could find.
She found herself in a dark ally and as the sunset colors turned to dark grays and blacks she curled up in a cardboard box. Her tail wrapped around her.
...
When Chaii woke up she found she was no longer alone, a black cat with matted fur slept beside her. She scoffed as she realized she had slept next to this cat, which woke the tom from his sleep.
"Hello." He said in a sleepy tone, his green eyes hooded by lids full of sleep.
Chaii took a step back and looked at the cat with disgust. "Who are you!" She finally asked in a snooty tone
"Jason," He replied "who are you?"
"Chaii Jackson"
"Nice to meet you."
Chaii didn't reply straight away, instead she looked him up and down. No collar, matted fur, a horrible stench intimating from him, not someone she would like to been seen around.
"Jason -" She said and then started to sniffle "I need to get back."
Jason looked at her and then started to walk in the other direction, and then turned around to show her where to go. "Chaii Jackson, you are one stuck up Pussy Cat. But you need a ticket home, follow me."
...
By they got back to the "good neighborhood" it was the afternoon and Chaii walked in the cat door, followed by Jason who was adopted by Chaii's family.
